My local bunnings was also clearing the the B22 WACA starter kit for $90

    • Just to save others, I checked our Bunnings - not on sale. So might be store-by-store.

  • I can never quite understand the price point on Philips LED lights apart from the fact that one of the first E22 Fluro bulbs I bought from them at great expense back in the day still works!

It is a large sized bulb (very early model) and quite heavy compared to later models. Obviously it was built with A+ grade components.

I have had a number of modern led lights fail on me in a very short time, obviously not Philips!

Once you use it, you will never look back.

I've used a bunch of different automated lights the Hues are my favorite, to the point where I'm getting rid of everything else and just using Hue. There are still a few areas for improvement for sure but nothing to lose any sleep over.

        • I am using a few wiz ones, and they say they are using Philips elements, are they just as good? They are quite nice I have to say and the app allows a fair bit of control, but it doesn't have/require a hub.

On a side not are the hubs that come with these standard zigbee hubs?

    • The Phillips hub runs my Gledepto controllers that I have on LED strips around pretty flawlessly. Eg in the corner behind my WFH setup I run one in aluminium channel floor to ceiling. It's great to be able to tell Alexa to "turn on the Desk Light" right before a Teams meeting. It also works as a night light by voice in the dark with a whispered command.

Also the motion sensor seems.ro be the most consistent.for.me.in my.apartment laundry.

      • Totally agree on both of these points - Gledopto is great and the motion sensor has literally never let me down or lost connectivity.

  • stock confirmed @ West Burleigh

  • is color kit worth it for the extra $50?

    • Colour kit is 3 bulbs, white is 2, and it’s colour

    • Absolutely

After several phone calls I managed to grab the last 2 coloured packs down at OW Punchbowl. Thanks OP.

  • Are they being discontinued or?

    • I don't think so, they do change the models/packaging etc fairly often.

    • The new CHOIP or whatever they rename it is comig but these should still be comparable.

Smartlights are freaking awesome. Got my first set earlier last month and I control them using my smartband which has Alexa on it. 15W at max brightness and they are indeed bright. Why did I wait this long to move from fluorescent

    • +1

Cos the fluorescents last years and there's no need to change them.

I like the smart lights but it is a bit of a gimmick/luxury. You hardly need them. I have about 10 now but I picked them all up on sale for under 5 bucks each, so for that I can bite

I found these are PMHE27KITBT. Officework have PHE27KITBT for $285. Whats the difference?

  • Damn I need bayonet ones. Can someone confirm these are 15W?

    • You can get a cheap bayonet > edison converter off of amazon. The globe will stick out an extra cm or 2, but otherwise works seamlessly

      • Actually never thought to get a converter! Cheers. Now to find stock!

        • Or ikea

  • Not Phillips but lifx on clearance as well, $9
    Least two different stores

      • +1

        Loganholme and browns plains QLD

        • I looked at the Lifx at the Officeworks in Bendigo when I got the Hue kits - all at full price. Hard to work out how they price things some times.

          • +1

@Moondog: Were they still on show in their normal spot? The two stores I went to, they were all dumped in the clearance bin

            • @dylanando: At Officeworks? No I didn't look in the clearance bin, just on the shelves.

  • damn, i missed it. is there any price matches?

Whats the difference between this and phillips wifi led bulbs? They are coloured and I can voice command them using google home. I bought it 3 bulbs for $20

    • These have the Hub bundled for local control.

  • Got the last one at Blacktown

  • Airport west sold out someone picked them all this morning, trip wasted

  • +1

Fivedock had one but didn’t want to honor the clearance price.
    Scanned at full retail

    • Called Five dock OW last night and was told item was out of stock, was told I'm not the only one who inquired about the item so not sure why they would tell you there is still stock left at full price. (I inquired about the coloured kit set)

      • I had the same experience with the coloured set, basically bloke wanted 280 for it. Can anyone conform that the replacement set hasn't been released and that it would be indeed the clearance item?

        • Same case with OW Blacktown when I called, the lady said item was at full price but none stock left.

  • +2

    Good deal OP

Seems like no stock left in SA.

I called around to Parafield, Elizabeth and Croyden, but none of them seemed to have any left. Maybe they're stashed away somewhere that the Officeworks staff couldn't find, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

    Good hunting!

  • Port Macquarie supposedly has 2, but I just visited and a staff member confirmed none in stock after giving her the code from the pictured ticket.

I today paid 40 for the lot ,at my local office work

  • If anyone bought multiple kits and has a spare zigbee hub they don't need/want let me know, will be happy to but the hub on its own.
