Problem with Cygnett ChargeUp Reserve 2nd Gen 20k Power Bank

Hey guys,

I received my new Cygnett Charge Up Reserve 2nd Gen 20k last Wednesday at noon and upon unboxing the unit it was sitting at 71% capacity - and I placed it on charge straight away and came back to it being 94% charged noticing it also rapidly flashed with a 188% symbol with a green lightning icon.

When used as a power bank, it would flash it's current capacity and then the 188% rapidly after and not indicate that it was charging any devices after a few seconds.

I then decided to hold the charge indicator button on the side for about 15 seconds to see what would happen, thereafter up until this posting, the display has no signs of life.

I have arranged for a replacement, but just thought I'd ask to see if anyone has experienced the same thing.

Has anyone come across this issue or know how to possibly get it to work?

Welcome to the Cygnett Power Bank Tech support forum.

This is definitely the correct place to be asking this.

Take it back and get a new one…

  • Did you try Ctrl-Alt-Del ???

  • Maybe read the instructions and/or contact support, does holding the side button for 15s turn it "OFF"?

  • You haven't mentioned how you are charging and how using it. I assume you are using the two-way USB-C port? 188 is all the numeric LED segments lighting up at once, it doesn't correspond to an actual charge state, more likely an indication that "something is wrong" or just the unit's processor is "booting up" / initialising.

    • Apologies, I've tried multiple methods of charging but mainly via 20w and above 30w power adaptors. I've already submitted a replacement claim however just wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue.
Manual doesn't say the button does anything else besides for indicating current charge capacity.
Oh yeah that does make sense regarding the 188.
      Thank you.
