Groupon Not suppying goods and incorrectly claiming the deal expired -- legal action required

Bought Shoe racks from GROUPON 2 months ago and paid for it. Received voucher and filled out details ( from the URL on the specified date) such as the delivery address. Didn't receive goods and emailed Groupon and they said voucher has expired??

I filled out the detail but seems like their system didn't work and now they will not supply the goods. This is a scam ??????

Emailed support and they havn't responded for days . I will give them another day or two and if I don't hear back I will lodge a claim with small claims VCAT . It will cost more than I spent but it is for the principal . This is not acceptable behaviour. . According to this article Groupon, in America has agreed to pay an $8.5 million settlement in a class action lawsuit claiming that expiration dates are illegal see http://gizmodo.com/5898699/your-expired-groupons-are-valid-a…

I would love to hear from anyone who didn't receive the goods - Danny

  • Do you have the original link to the deal?

  • Go to ADMA, Groupon will immediately change their tune.

  • OK, so have you contacted the actual merchant (Clever Gadgets) instead of Groupon?

They do state 6 weeks delivery which if they count from April 27, should be sometime next week.

    • I have contacted Groupon and they told me to contact [email protected]

When I emailed thegrailgroup they told me that I didn't fill out the redeem form but I did. I remember filling out this web form and putting my delivery address in as well as other details. —this is the issue.

I have emailed the railgroup serveral times and the only response I got was that my voucher has expired ??? Danny

  • A search on the parent company (Temzell Pty Ltd) brings up a lot of similar websites all registered to InDigital Media who is based in South Melbourne.

I brought something from cudo and they didnt supply so i asked for a refund after waiting more than 1 mth but they ignored my request and kept asking me to wait for it to arrive. (this dragged on for a few months) in the end cudo wrote back saying they would not refund as it is not in their policy. So i decided to complain to adma.
    Cudo refunded the next day.

    • Cudo is the pits. They are worse than Scoopon ever dreamed of being.

    • Please let me know exactly how to lodge a complaint to ADMA.
Is it just by sending an email to [email protected] ? or does ADMA has any on-line process for lodging complaints?
I am also trying hard to get a refund from a Cudo's holiday deal where the merchant rejected my request for booking and asked me to contact Cudo for refund. I've sent about 6 email requests for refund to Cudo (Cudo does not provide any phone contact for customer service). All I got back so far are automated messages from the system that they received my queries, and would respond within few days. Many weeks have gone by, and I still hear nothing from Cudo. In the meantime, my voucher is approaching expiry! So I desperately needs the help of some organisation like ADMA.
      Thanks.

  • +1

similar bad behaviour from Catch of the Day. The sent me the wrong item (value $17.95) then required me to apply for an RMA to return it. Tried to wiggle out of paying the postage etc, this went on for 6 weeks before I sent them a bill for $600 for my time. They refunded pretty smartly after that, but what a waste of everybody's time.

  • Hi, I referred my Dad for a meal special and I wanted to get the the $10 Groupon Referral which they advertise everywhere.

After 5 days, Groupon just now manually cancelled my Referral credit.

    Originally, it said

    "Referral Pending".

    It now says:

"Referred user’s transaction unsuccessful - credit not issued"

and they wrote me an email that they suspect it is a fraudulent referral - and that under their Terms, they can cancel Referrals at any time, at their discretion - EVEN AFTER GIVING THE CREDIT TO YOU!

So beware - their Referrals are "not worth the paper they are written on"!

Has anyone else had this happen to them?
