Best Places to Feed Ducks in Sydney?

It's a nice sunny weekend in Sydney. I'd like to take my daughter out to go feed ducks.

Where would you recommend to go duck feeding?

Agreed feed them the bones of your enemies

    • Bread is no worse for ducks than it is for humans. What would be bad for both humans and ducks is a diet that consisted predominantly or wholly of bread. So, yes, if everyone else is feeding them bread, choose something else for them.

      Quack!

      That's duck for "vegan"

Of course, like every vegan, they'll let you know

      You're welcome

  • Any local pond/lake would typically do.

And plus one for ‘not bread’

  • Richmond.

Get in early or the ducks will be full.

Literally it takes a second to search on google why you shouldn't feed ducks bread. I don't really know how you got on this website but maybe try expanding your knowledge on how to use the internet.

          Cheers!

@googleexists: The same can be said for you. You know this thread is a year old right?

Bit rich to lecture people on how to use the internet when you're necroing old threads.

  • Centennial Park near city. I went with bag of bread and lots of birds to feed there. Ducks on the water. Geese on the land. Swans. There are also Long Billed Corellas and Little Corellas. The Long Billed Corellas are the most fun as they're accustomed to humans and are very friendly. They crowded around and gently took the bread out of my hand. The Little Corellas are more cautious so they'll get close but will only eat the bread that is dropped.

In a grass field there I walked past a group of Long Billed Corellas. I bent down to feed them bread and they were so used to humans that some jumped on to my head, shoulders, and arms. One gently pulled on my ear to get me to feed it. They have sharp claws! My friends laughed at the photo of me covered in Corellas and compared me to Jesus.

There are all these signs up that sort of say that if you feed the birds you're going to hell. However, given how human friendly the birds are a lot of people feed the birds.

There are also turtles and big fish in the water to feed. They come to the surface and splash about.
