Best Way to Clean My Saucony Triumph 18 Running Shoes

What is the best way to clean my Saucony Triumph 18 Running Shoes . Do I use a brush and some warm soapy water or can I just put them in the washing machine on a cold water cycle without worrying they will fall apart ?

    Run in water

When my old runners (worn for running) get to about 900 KM, and the new ones are OK, old ones go in a bucket with washing powder and water for 2 - 3 days. Then wash in washing machine and dry in sun for another 2 days. They look brand new, other than the tread totally worn on the soles. Excellent for casual wear.

    • Thank for your thoughts , I was a bit worried they might unglue or fall to bits , will give this a go.
      Thanks
      Cheers

    washing machine

I used to put my nike TNs in a washing machine no care given to the cycle, no worries

I put some nike air max's in a washing machine same car as given above, totally destroyed them

    ymmv

I have had mixed results when soaking shoes to clean then. Never had them fall apart when wiping them with a damp cloth or just get the outer layer wet using a wet cloth

Washing machine will either work or destroy and the only way to tell is to try it and hope you get the shoes back usable.

Cleaning running shoes? What’s next how to wash a car? Life’s too short for that kind of chore.

    • How about how to clean a mouse?

      • Well that’s essential otherwise you end up clicking on the wrong bargains.

Take the back out and pick the schmutz off the little rollers.

        • I too remember when mice had those little rollers, those were the days.

          • @brendanm: I used to support them and about every 6 or so months a person would ring up and say the mouse does not work after I cleaned the rollers. I asked what they used and it was either petrol or metho or something else that dissolved the plastic on the roller.

        • But it's the stinky pet that needs cleaning.

          • @AndyC1: My bad. Gentle cycle in the washing machine. Might as well throw a couple of pairs of shoes in while it’s in there.

            • @Euphemistic: What will I end up with? Fluffy shoes or a big mess…
