Tagging @ People (Solved)

Hi

I’ve read through some discussions about tagging people (eg: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/78825) but it does not seem to work ?

I put in @ + user … but it never works for me.

Is it a “pebkac” or cause I’m using a mobile device (which makes it a “pebmac” :P) or something else?

Thoughts ?

    You need to go into beta mode - I think

    My account > settings > show beta features

      I can see when someone tags me … but I don’t think my tags are tagging people.

      Didn’t seem to work with @kerfuffle down below ?

        Yeah, didn't get any notification that you tagged me in that comment below but I did get a notification when @MS Paint tagged me. Weird.

    Like how come some people have the @name highlighted but others just have @name that looks like text ?

      Highlighted names are when you reply to a comment 5th levels or deeper in.

      Tags show up as normal text.

    You know it works when you get a dropdown when you start typing in a username.

      I don't have that option (beta click box). I have gone through all the tabs but cannot see it. All I can see from your link is this https://imgur.com/a/4cbn9cv

      Neither on a PC or Mobile ??

      1) highlighted names > 5th level or deeper
      2) Tags showing up as normal text

      However the main thing that trigged my concern was that I do no get a dropdown box / auto selection of users. I have to manually type it in .. which obviously is not going to work :P

        I don't have that option (beta click box)

        To gain access to beta features, you must have:

        • Have an account that has been created for at least 180 days.
        • Have at least 2 badges.

        I see you only have 1 badge.

          Now I can sleep tonight …. After I go and try to collect another badge … haha

          But seriously … thanks for your help. I don’t often @ people …. But was more wondering why it didn’t work. #insertthumbsup

        I didn’t “judge” anything. I merely offered an alternative proposition as to why your pages were not working.

          I went through the site looking for bargains for tissue + my local Woolies is out … so yeh I’m in a predicament now. Are you offering your shoulder for me to lean on ?

            And my comment was directed at the other person's inability to give enough of a shit about replying to pages, nothing to do with you sending them… this was more an indictment of their laziness/ambivalence, but you know, don't read the actual words, just read into it whatever makes you outraged the most, ok champ :)
