On sale from Blackview is this Android tablet in Gray or Gold that's pretty good value for under A$250. A few of the standout features is that this uses a MediaTek MT8788 CPU which offers better performance and graphics than the UNISOC T618 SoC found in similar priced budget tablets, it uses Sony camera sensors and the 6580mAh battery supports 30W fast charging.

Features include Android 11 with Google Play, 10.1" 1920x1080p IPS display, 8GB RAM, 128GB UFS storage (microSD support), MediaTek MT8788V Octa-Core CPU, ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, 4G LTE, 6580mAh battery with USB-C, Sony IMX219 8MP front camera, Sony IMX258 13MP rear camera, WiFi ac/BT5.0, 3.5mm audio, GPS and FM radio.

According to Blackview this tablet has Widevine L1 DRM, however for Netflix HD to work the device needs to be whitelisted by Netflix. My Blackview Tab 11 with Widevine L1 DRM is not blacklisted, so Netflix is only in SD sadly.

  • That's a helluva good price.

  • These tablets look to have a much slower CPU than the T618 in the Tab 11.
Antutu 91k compared with 224k in the Tab 11

  • So this or the lenovo?

    • Clear uses blackview.. not much else to say.

I am a very basic Android tablet user however. No Netflix or intense gaming. Literally just general browsing, some YouTube, posting deals and work. Used primarily in airports and hotel rooms where my phone screen is too small.

Just bear in mind that when you buy a product from Bangood you're effectively buying a product with no guarantee. I found out the hard way when they wouldn't honour the guarantee on a tablet I purchased that failed after a few months. They are out of the jurisdiction of the ACCC so there's nothing you can do about it.

Paypal gives you 180 days, and free return shipping with their "Refunded_returns", after that you're on your own, much the same as anything off aliexpress, or such…

  • Its hard to find a tablet with good Rom support these days.

    • +1

You would need to stick to snapdragon cpus for good rom support.

  • Clear, any downsides to it being EU version?

    • You get an EU power adaptor.

      • No other downsides to using an EU version in Australia? Sorry for the newbie questions. I haven't bought a tablet since my Samsung S2 which is really showing its age now!

How is the sound from the 2 boxed speakers? Would love to use it for movies.

    • Keen to purchase one myself… but waiting for Banggood to get back to me reagrding the CPU - I'd like confirmation if it is indeed a MT8788. Will hold off if they say it contains MT8786

      • +2

Blackview and all marketing images from Blackview on Banggood say MT8788V.

    Bit the bullet this morning…

  • Got an email from blackview to say Tab 13 with G85 coming out on sale from 22/8 for $133 USD (before tax) at AliExpress. Anyone know how this would compare ?

    • +1

Performance of the T618 and G85 are pretty much on par. Benefits are more in the software like Android 12, PC mode etc.

  • So Tab 10 pro better than Tab 13 in performance since Mt8788 > T618?
