    Plenty of free alternatives ;)

I don’t want an alternative I just wanna know the cheapest way to pick up Lightroom classic.

      • Understood and I don't know that answer, but… BUT if you do try something else I turned to https://www.darktable.org/ after using lightroom for quite a while. It's damn good and you'd likely be impressed.

  • Arr!! Be ye a scurvy dog or not, says I!!

Here $14.29 per month and claim it on Tax if you do something in that field?

Honestly, $15 a month isn't that bad if you REALLY want it. I have the full library for work and claim the lot on my tax return.

    • I would do that yeah but atm I’m not really making money off of it (yet!). I heard there was a student discount but it seems it’s only for the all apps subscription :/

  • What is lightroom classic? As in the version without subs (lightroom 5.x?)

Sorta. It’s a desktop version of Lightroom where the photos etc are primarily stored on your device rather than the cloud

      • I bought that a couple of years ago, Lightroom 5.7 but uninstalled it as I found I never used it (had to convert daft nikon raw files in a 3rd party piece of software, which just annoyed me), and I ended up selling my DSLR, So I've a valid key for downloading and using Lightroom 5.7. Are we allowed to sell stuff on here if people are interested? Or is there a seperate forum for it?

I'm not a fan of subscription models for things, would rather buy outright myself as well.

Thanks for the offer, but I'd rather 1. use a more modern version and 2. have ongoing updates as I enjoy the features Adobe adds + need it for lens compatibility etc

          • @ThatNintendoKid: No worries. I think the last standalone LR was 6, which had native Nikon RAW compatability (typical!). Otherwise, updates etc. are only in the creative cloud subscription online model now I think.

    • It's just what Lightroom used to be before they came up with the Lightroom CC where photos are stored on the cloud and you can edit your library from multiple devices etc.

  • Look into buying it via a VPN through a South American country

    • Would it work if I used it without the VPN afterwards?

  • Does it have to be the current version? The older versions used to be able to be bought outright.

    • Yeah having current version is pretty important to me

    Cheapest I could find: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/173924768335?hash=item287eb95a4f…
Should light a small room, though you didn't say how bright you wanted it to be…

Actually scratch that. Just open the curtains?

    • lol thanks aha

      • 😁
But seriously, if you can't afford the plan maybe look at free options like Darktable? Otherwise VPN via somewhere like India, Turkiye, Argentina. Should be fine to just pay with VPN, and run without VPN.

  • You can only get the current version on subscription, Adobe stopped selling stand-alone after LR6. Unless you can get it through a VPN cheaper somewhere the cheapest is the photographer plan that also comes with photoshop.
