  • Can you get gift cards with NB?

    • +3

I’m going to assume NB = New Balance, since I did not see any New Balance offers on my AMEX or any other offers that could be called “NB”, plus recent New Balance offers on credit cards have usually been $50 from $200+ spend (which is identical to the NB spend criteria in this deal).

My guess is that New Balance gift cards do not exist in Australia, because:

      • I visited a New Balance store a while ago and could not see any New Balance gift cards anywhere in the store. The staff also said they have never seen Australian New Balance gift cards.

      • There is no section on the checkout on the Australian New Balance website to allow you to redeem any gift cards. You could apply a gift card through the voucher section, although a lot of companies employ a gift card code + PIN system, which is something the New Balance voucher section would not be able to handle.

      • There is no webpage for New Balance gift cards on the Australian New Balance website.

      • The payment method page on the Australian New Balance website does not mention New Balance gift cards.

Got everything except Hilton offer. May be because we smashed it on every card last time.

    • Where is the Hilton offer ?

I didn’t get NB but found all the others.

  • +2

Got most of these on my QANTAS Ultimate.

Restaurants are mostly in Sydney, a few in Brissy and just 2 in Melbourne.

Although I could go some le bon ton right about now

    • +1

Yeah absolutely nothing in Perth. And the rest are of no interest. Doesn't look I will keep this card beyond 12 months.

    • +5

2 in Melbourne is pretty disgraceful considering.

The offers are just getting worse and worse..

Might cancel and start churning on Amex too.

Although IHG includes spendings in Singapore this time, if anyone is heading up that way.

  • Got most of these, but alas, my stay at an IHG hotel in October is only $250.. Definitely not going to spend an extra $100 to get the $75 back.

Spend $100 on a meal and put it on your room

      • I like your thinking but I don't know if I can spend that much on a solo meal!

        • +9

          Order something with iceberg lettuce

Ask if you can buy a $100 IHG gift card and put it on the account?

        • +1

Get the breakfast as well then.

        • I just had a look at the room service menu for Intercontinental Sydney. A garden salad, steak, cheapest glass of red wine and an ice cream sundae will set you back $99 including the room delivery charge.

I also got a Wyndham Hotels and Resorts offer, $400 spend, $100 back.
Also, I've just noticed the IHG one is a little different this time, it's valid at:

Participating IHG Hotels & Resorts properties in Australia and Singapore

    Usually it's just within Australia.

    • Interestingly the four seasons offer is valid in Australia and Singapore as well. Of all countries why Singapore though?

      • +6

Dunno, but I've always thought it's a bit silly when AmEx makes these overseas offers given that they still hit you with 3% currency conversion fee on the transaction!

    • I got Wyndham as well, I wonder if Ramada by Wyndham is included? Planning to go to Canberra but only show 2 Ramada hotels

  • Only got the NB offer on the platinum charge. However got most of the others on the Velocity Plat. Would have expected the plat charge to get more offers given the higher grade and associated fee.

  • Any of these restaurants in the entertainment book as well

    • Lotus

  • Got them all on amex platinum charge card. Bit sad accom can only be used in Aus/Singapore though.

The restaurant list arent good / a lot…

  • +1

lol not a single restaurant in WA

    • +2

australia is just NSW and VIC i believe

      • Those other states are just mining outposts and places where dental hygiene doesn't exist.

  • These restaurants are rediculously priced even with the 15% off. Needs to be at least 50%.

  • I haven't gotten new offers in 3 months, is that normal

    • God is trying to save you $.
These offers are just making us spend more… dont get fooled

    • Is your card a supp card? They no longer get offers I believe.

      • They stopped for a while but now getting some again.

  • Hopeless nothing on djs Amex platinum. Am travelling to Thailand next month would have loved some offers.Instead 5 different wine offers WTF Amex is getting worse.

  • Has anyone gotten their 15% dining credit back yet? I made a qualifying spend on the 6th, received the e-mail on the 7th, but still haven't received said credit.

    • Finally showed up, 20 days later.

  • Is there any way to book IHG hotels in advance for January and split the payment across multiple cards to maximize the offer. Any IHG gift card available

  • going to NZ in a couple of months. Pick up is 26/11 (before 30/11) but return is after 30/11. will I get credit?

Hertz: Spend AU$250 or more, get AU$50 back, Expires on 30/11/2022
AVIS: Spend $270 or more, get $50 back, Expires on 30/11/2022

    • For Hertz at least, you will get a pre-auth only for full amount + bond ($100?) when picking up the car.

You will only get charged after you return the car.
