Driving with a cracked bumper NSW

So I had a fender bender and my Front Bumper has a crack on the side. After cleaning the dust from the accident the car looks okay apart from the cracked bumper.

The damage to the bumper is such that the bumper is sinking by an inch or two but it is still in its place and doesn't budge on any force. With the way its taking for parts to arrive looks like I might have to drive the vehicle like that for a month or two.

Is it okay to drive my car with a cracked bumper?

    Definitely legal, quote me.

I don't think a piece of plastic being cracked is a problem, is it?

Most likely legal unless it is sticking out, potentially harmful to other road users pedestrians or involves structural damage

Bumpers are held in by alot of clips and screws you should be fine, but you haven't provided a picture anyway…

Slap some 100MPH tape on it and call it a day.

    • Or add some speed holes which I think are pretty neat and make the car go faster

Tape it and add a few car part brand stickers to the car

Totally Random Capitalisation aside, no one is going to care if it truly is an inch or two and the rest of the car looks fine.

  • Is the crack/damage likely to do more damage to a pedestrian or cyclist if you hit one?

  • Is it okay to drive my car with a cracked bumper?

    Cosmetically no.

    Functionally, good-enough.

  • i drove my car with no bumper for like 9 months, was pulled over during that time, no problems

    • What were you pulled over for?

got flagged as un licenced, i even asked the cop if he pulled me up because of the bumper and he said no

  • Here you go OP, solution to your problem: https://youtu.be/M6hlVoX0B_k

  • Cable ties and 100 mile an hour tapa will sort it while you wait for parts. Won’t hurt to drill a couple of holes in to tie it together.

As above it’ll only be a concern if it’s potentially dangerous to pedestrians.

  • If the security is compromised, or has sharp edges it is Unroadworthy.

Mind some photos would help greatly.

Lack of new parts is no legal reason to drive an Unroadworthy vehicle.
