Folding Ebike Recommendation for Job Commute

Heya. I've recently started a new job that has me catching some public transport and 25 minute walks. I'm looking for an EBike recommendation that is very VERY budget. The only thing I need it to be is lightweight really. I don't want to carry 25kilos around so closer to 15 would be ideal. Maybe in the 1k or less range? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Would you be better off with a lightweight regular bike? I’ve got an old one that is closer to 8kg. A 25min walk isn’t a long ride considering you do at least 3x the speed. More effective than walking, less trouble than an e bike.

Budget? Light and cheap don’t go together.

  • Check if the station near your work has a bike locker. You can rent the locker to store your bike there, rather than bringing it home with you.

    See this link (NSW): https://appln.transport.nsw.gov.au/bikelockers/faces/jsp/pub…

  • What is your distance?

An e-scooter might be a better option depending on how far you are commuting.

    • At 5km/h 25min is only 2km. Not far at all, hardly worth getting anything battery powered.

How is an e-scooter to ride if you forget to charge it? E-bike are usually not much different to non powered and bikes are very efficient to ride.

      • They have said they catch public transport and also walk 25m.

I think the e-bike component would be to eliminate both.

        • Could be, but depends on the how long the public transport component is.

My interpretation was that they wanted to eliminate reduce the walk time and needed a folder to fit on the public transport.
