You beauty! My wife picks her Tucson up on Friday! This is brilliant!

  • Cool, offsets a bit of the constant price hikes that have been happening to cars since the start of covid supply issues.

  • +6

Vehicle must have been delivered in the last 3 months,

So you mean ordered in Jan 2020?

    • Not all vehicles are a wait. I went in 3 weeks ago looking for a car. I knew what colour and model we wanted.

The next day I got a call from the sales guy who said they had been allocated the Tucson N Line in white that we wanted. It was on a boat. Arrived at the dealer last Wednesday and picking up Friday.

Plenty of N Lines Tucsons around, but not all cars are a wait. We did look at a Mitsubishi Outlander, that is a 7 month wait.

      • Mazda, Subaru are only few weeks to 2-3months max

    • +1

I ordered a tucson elite n-line diesel in April 2022 and was told 3 month wait, however it arrived early after 2 months..

      • +1

Yep, I heard all Diesel model wait times are under 3 months. I purchased a highlander in mid May, went into production the next day, and arrived just before July.

        • I purchased a highlander in mid May

We heard the highlanders were a wait. We did discuss it with the sales guy as an option. But are happy with the Tucson.

      • +1

Yeah, we got the Tucson Elite N-Line Diesel in white as well. We signed the paperwork and sale on 12th of July and arrived at the dealer on 27th of July.

I knew there were plenty around as I looked online and made enquiries with a few dealers. But went with my local as they are also a Ford dealer, I bought my Ranger through the sales guy only 5 months ago. So got a good deal on a trade in as well.

So we didn't have to wait long at all.

        • Did you get a good deal? I mean were you able to negotiate a price that you had in mind? I'm considering buying a new car by don't know what sort of scale to aim for given the current car market situation.

          • @Nickelback: Yeah I think we got a good deal. I was able to up our trade in compared to other offers, so I got an extra $1,000 on that which was great.

So cannot complete I guess. Come away with spending just over $44k all up for the Tucson.

I think I could've done better on my Ford Ranger buy, but that was a Lease arrangement, so wasn't as big as actually buying it myself outright.

  • Can't speak for the other clubs/businesses, but the Carlton membership team will be calling and/or emailing you for years after you do this.

  • So basically, we need an AFL membership (Lions or Carlton), i’m guessing Lions is the cheapest, then submit a form? Thank-you if that’s right, sounds pretty good

  • I recall this doesn't work for fleet customers (like if you've purchased your Hyundai through a car broker)

    • +1

Sorry forgot to say, not available for fleet buyers :(

    • Did you buy through a broker? Wondering if there are substantial savings by engaging them

      • Yep I purchased through Motorscout, they were fantastic and I got really a good discount. I paid RRP+400 onroad charge for a Tucson Highlander Diesel.
I've enquired a few cars through them and generally the biggest discounts are on the cars that are most available. Your saves might depends on your sales consultant as well, some are great and some are not keen to get more quotes.

        • That's not bad considering the current market. Thinking of a korean suv myself. Still undecided though.

        • what is the RRP? is the Manufacturer recommended list price (MLP)?

  • -5

Do they come with fire extinguishers?
Reports of Tuscan and i30s catching fire automatically ?

    • +1

2007-2011 model-year i30 hatchback (shown above) and 2006-2011 Elantra recalled after 2 incidents.
If anything, that is kudos to Hyundai for recalling that on such old cars and fixing it, given it's extreme low chance.

    • You are talking about Tuscan whereas people here are discussing Tucson. There is a slight difference.

  • this is a brilliant post!

ordering a new Santa Fe soon so this extra cash will come in handy

  • FYI the T&Cs on these require a certain level of membership with the footy clubs, not just the cheapest ones. For Brisbane it is stated as:

Eligible memberships include Full Season, Flexi 11 and Traditional Victorian and Victorian Plus memberships.

From memory for Carlton it was similar but included an interstate membership which was ~$140 or so.

OP, can you confirm if you have received your rebate yet?

    • Found the Carlton requirement:

The Member must be a full-ticketed member or country and interstate Carlton FC member for the 2022 AFL season. No ‘3 game’, 'At Home’ or non- access memberships will be eligible for the Redemption Offer

    • Looks like the Traditional Victorian will be the cheapest $95 per year according to T&Cs

    • +1

I haven't received mine yet, my application is pending. I've spoken to 2 different people who have received the cash though who used the same membership.

  • +3

If I bought a Hyundai month ago could I claim this offer if I become a member today or do you already have to have been an afl member?

    • +1

Would love to know this as well, am getting my i30 soon

    • +2

I received the car 2/8, saw this post 3/8 and applied to Brisbane Lions $95.00 "Traditional Membership". Emailed them saying I need a letter confirming my membership. 4/8 they emailed me the letter and I immediately applied to Hyundai Cashback redemption. 5/8 Hyundai redemption request approved, pending bank transfer for up to 3 weeks. Great find by the OP and great timing for me too.

      • where do you get the. $95 traditional membership? shows as $165 for me

  • +1

    Would love a I20N

  • Just be warned, the car bubble is about to (or is currently) popping. If you want a good deal might be good to wait (as it takes a bit longer for this to hit oz)

    Awesome deal OP

  • Just purchased Sonata and was offered Brisbane Lions membership deal. ( $220).Only thing to remember is that in Brisbane only 2 home games left with Sunday game almost sold out for General admission. For other seating, a premium applies. Still not a bad deal as Dealer prices are usually $1-2 K at least above Hyundai drive away prices.
Can't wait to pick up my Sonata in Hampton Grey next Thursday.

    • Beautiful car. Can I ask how much you got it for?

  • Just realised I could have taken Traditional Victorian Lions membership for $95 and still qualified but not offered by dealer at the time last Thursday. Anyhow going to Melbourne vs Lions at the Gabba 19/8 with a heap of mates.

  • +2

Big thanks to OP for great deal. Would have missed out on $405 otherwise. Had I30 for a month, saw this post and bought Traditional Victorian Lions membership then applied through Hyundai with approval within 2 days. Didn’t need a letter regarding membership, just used screenshot showing mobile membership details.

  • Wondering if I bought a car through novated lease, am I still entitled for it?

    • +1

Doubt it as it would be a fleet buy.

      • Disagree. When you purchase the car the dealership only gets paid by a financial services company. You are still paying regular pricing so this should be fine.

Hyundai has no idea if it is a personal loan or a novated lease

    • Purchased Brisbane VIC $95 membership 9/8 morning
    • Picked Up car 9/8 lunch time
    • Submitted Application 9/8 evening

Now to wait for approval. Some info is mixed names, so could be interesting. Like the MyHyundai account in my name but most of the other documentation is in my wife's name as its her car. Should be interesting.

    • can't find the $95 membership, cheapest is $165 ?

    • any outcome?

      • Got declined because it was a "fleet" buy because of a Government Worker discount.

        • may I know how much discount you got as a government worker

  • Does anyone know if this still works? Getting my car delivered in a few weeks time but wondering if the membership has to be for the 2022 season only or if the 2023 season is fine. TIA!

    • I was wondering the same thing. It says 2022 in the t&c's but the promotion is a valid until 2026.
      Did it work for you?

  • -1

thank you, I just bought a fresh new i30 Sedan, this will help recoup some of the premium we have to pay these days for new cars.

  • Comments reopened by request.

  • Does anyone know if this still works?

I noticed in the Brisbane Lions ts and cs it has a promotional period between “1 July 2021 and 31st December 2026”, but then also states you need to be a “full-ticketed member of Brisbane Lions for the 2022 AFL Season”.

    • I think still works. I claim the cashback January this year

      • Nice. Did you happen to have a 2022 Brisbane lions membership or a 2023 membership?

  • Anyone know if the Brisbane lions membership is recurring and automatically charged? There doesn't seem to be a cancellation option, and it appears that there is some auto-renew plan when I went to pay for the membership

  • Does anyone know if this cashback still works for new membership

  • Does this work on demos by any chance?

  • What is the cheapest way to get this now? Traditional Victoria at $173??
