  • Anyone tried their pomade before? Any good? I’ve only bought the clay

    • I'm using the Hard Styling Mud (Orange) and it's great. Easy to wash after application and easy to wash out of my hair.

      • Yep very familiar with that one, it’s awesome but sometimes I like to switch to a slick pomade especially when the mop gets a bit longer

    • How's the clay?

I look for something to give my fine white-boy hair some body and dry texture.

My current go-to is the Dominate clay.

      • It’s fantastic, it’s has a great hold and I have thick Azn hair

We have very different hair. I can't do anything with this recommendation 😵

          • @muwu: This is true but I believe a little dab would still work for your hair. May I also suggest a light paste such as Uppercut Deluxe Matte Pomade (green tin)?

  • Which one is the strongest hold

  • Never liked Muk products. Nothing can beat Gatsby wax (pink one for me) from my experience after trying a handful of 'premium' products available in Aus.

    • I used to use Gatsby pink and purple when I was younger but found the waxiness hard to wash out of my hands, and also hard to wash out from a shower.

Granted it's been 10 years or so and I mainly use rockstar and muk now. Are your experiences anything like that or is it worth a revisit again?

I think they have become less sticky compared to many years ago. If I happen to apply too much of it for an ambitious style then it is still a bit like that and I need to soak the hair in shampoo to have it off completely. But I usually tend to use only a small amount for an 'organised mess' look, so it washes off pretty easily.
I only use a pump of soap to wash my hands semi thoroughly (covid style) and it's fine.

In comparison I find rockstar, muk, and american crew products too oily and weak.

Yes. You are correct. Gatsby does hard to wash out. It's always so difficult to find a perfect hair product which can have strong hold and not hard to wash out. I found that Bed Head Wax is not bad and also gatsby pink; purple. American Crew Fiber is popular but not enough hold for me. I tried uppercut products but didn't like it. I am using Bead Head Wax at the moment.

Has anyone tried Kevin Murphy Night or Rough rider? This is the expensive one but it has mixed reviews.

  • barber recommended me these, got the slick styling one and while the hold isnt perfect, it makes up for it with the vanilla bean scent. smells amazing.

    • Do fat girls lick your head? 🍦

  • $152.17 per kilo, for those playing at home

I've found these great quality for price, $65/kg…
