Wireless Printer for Home Use $100 to $150

Can someone please recommend me a decent printer where i don't spend a bomb on replacing cartridges. I print approx 30 to 40 pages a month and current own Canon TS3360 and spend a lot of money of replacing cartridges.

Any recommendations around $100 to $150 would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can't get reliable XL generic cartridges for the TS3360?

  • I need a black and white wireless lazer printer preferably with a scanner also. Any recommendations in the thread authors budget range?

    • Do white lasers exist?

Get a used Brother laser multifunction. Very reliable and economical. FB Market. There are quite a few going around with return to office work.

      • Do white lasers exist?

        Yes…

    • Not sure why you got negged as I'm looking for exactly this, i.e.cheap, wireless, scan-capable, occasional use.

My current cheapo HP is in effect a glorified scanner as it's too expensive to print with, i.e. official cartridges only and always dried out when I need to print.

up your budget a bit and never worry about ink prices again…

    https://www.pbtech.com/au/product/PTREPA5332464/Epson-EcoTan…

$261.20 (or $248 with OW price beat)

Based on your usage, you won't need to buy new ink for years and when you do, it's cheap…

    • is it good for colored label printing on sticker sheets ? Sticker sheets that can be applied on products.

      • Haven't tried that, but from my experience, it is pretty much the same as any other Epson inkjet printer.

        • My printing requirement is 4,5 black and white papers in a month and few colored labels that I get from different places. I was thinking to get a Brother Laser B&W Printer but after seeing your comment, i am confused that shall i buy this eco tank as price difference in brother and ecotank isn't a lot and if i can get colored labels for products from it, then it would be a great investment.

From where do you buy ink for it and it's long life (like laser), if i don't use it much ?

          • @ChipsChicky: i just use genuine ink and get it from Officeworks.

each colour is $17 and last about 2 years or more for me, and i print a lot…

It can clog up in the printer if you do not print often, like every other inkjet, but I don't have that issue.

            • @jv: Have you tried printing stickers with this ?

    • Would officeworks price beat with this as they're an online store? Any such experience?

Usually yes, as long as it is exactly the same model, and they take into account the delivery cost.

    brother hl-l2350dw
basically your stock standard wifi printer with generic cartridges available off ebay

  • Always check to see if you can get compatible cartridges before buying any printer. Also never buy a printer that has a combo color cartridge as they are dear and need replacing when just one of the colors runs low.

If you like the Cannon features check out Cannon for models like the TR7060 or the TR7660.

  • where i don't spend a bomb on replacing cartridges

The only reason for buying an inkjet is if you want to print photorealistic images (which laser printers do poorly).

If you don't want to spend a bomb on replacing cartridges get a laser printer. A basic black and white printer these days is very cheap - but the best part is that you can go a whole month without printing and the next day print no problem. Inkjets dry out if you don't print regularly and require replacement of cartridges on a regular basis as a result.

  • If B&W only printing, Brother 1210W

  • Dont get the cheap Brother L2305W from OW. The wireless function does not work.
