Which One Seiko SSB399P or Seiko SRPG29K

Hi,

I am a novice in the watch world and hoping you guys might provide some direction on which watch to buy.
I am considering the following two:

https://www.watchdepot.com.au/seiko-ssb399p-chronograph-mens…

Price is practically the same and I like the look of both watches equally however the SSB399P is 2mm larger so leaning that way.

Thanks.

Definitely SSB399P based on looks alone.

SSB399P looks like a head turner for sure

      • I third the SSB399P

In my view, the two watches are not comparable.

Yep, very different beasts. One is an automatic field-esque watch, one is a quartz chrono sports watch. Nothing wrong with having both.

  • Automatic isnt for me. Which makes this an easy decision

  • neither personally.
I'd consider the recent citizen coke listed on here though

Its really a personal taste thing. For me it would be the SRPG29K any day of the week, as I find the SSB399P to be a bit too bulky and visually busy, but realistically these are two very different watches for very different purposes.

  • If this will be your one and only watch, then get the one you like even if it’s based on look. Just be clear that Seiko 5 is automatic, good buy for automatic entry level, however most automatic stops after not wearing for 40-50 hours. Battery is convenient.

I notice their similarities are metal, so metal or steel may appeal more to you. But if you’re gonna get few watches down the track anyway, you’ll have different collections. And right now I see this the Best Buy. Seiko Tuna Solar, 10 months operating once fully charged.
