Hi I want a cheap thermos for my son to take to school

Hi, my 11 year old wants to take warm soup to school, so I need to get a cheap thermos, where I can buy a couple so I have a spare at home just in case he looses the lid or something goes wrong. Any suggestions thanks

If it's for soup, I can highly recommend the Aladdin Micro Lunch Bowl…I have one of these for soups & casseroles etc…it's awesome! You can open the lid & microwave it in the morning, then just screw the lid on the hot food & it stays hot til lunchtime!

IIRC BigW still sells them for under $20! :)

    • Seriously stays hot for like 3-4 hours? Thats awesome.

      • Yep, actually after about 4hrs the soup is at perfect eating temperature! Beats the office lunchtime microwave lineup! :)

Aldi has cheap ones right at the moment. Not sure how long they will last. They are $6.99 I think and have both food thermoses and regular drink thermoses for that price. They are just plain silver, you might want something more colourful for a kid though.

  • thanks, my 11 year old doesn't have a microwave at school, but will drop down to Aldi and check out there one, as he want to start doing it this week, thanks again

  • My mother used to make soup for me to bring to school back when I was in Primary school. We used these types of Thermoses http://www.greendemon.com.au/images/thermosfood0.47L.jpg and it would still be warm at lunch time. My dad bought some cheap ones and it was not worth it.
