Air Purifier Recommendation

Hi, I'm looking for an air purifier. Prefer a medium or larger one, capable of purifying a 60m2 room.

Having difficulty determining which product/brand is reliable, and has reasonably affordable and available filters. I notice some products do not seem to have filters available, which is weird, including the latest Breville (Smart Air Plus Connect).

Budget would be $300-550.

Have my eye on Xiaomi, Breville, Phillips, Samsung, but Samsung is a bit too expensive. Prefer wifi/smart features if possible, with dust/particle detection.
Thanks

  • Xiaomi

    • Thanks, went with Xiaomi.

Both Phillips and Samsung are good, we have both running at home and offices.

  • Xiaomi 3H is nice, with filters readily available. Xiaomi 4 lite isn't as good in my opinion. Somehow a slightly bigger unit with less room coverage and uglier display.

Check out https://cleanairstars.com/filters/ it compares air purifiers according to your needs.

I plugged in room volume of 144 cubic metres (60*2.4) and a max volume of 45dB, and it spat out the SmartAir Blast MkII (Without carbon filter) - High speed as the cheapest option to get > 6 air changes per hour.

I do follow SmartAir on twitter, and they are pretty legit in pumping out great content on indoor air quality.

Where do you plan to use the air purifier? I've found 45dB a good upper limit to use for noise. Anything more noisy and its hard to tolerate

    • Went with Xiaomi. Fairly quiet even on max setting.Bit worried about the negative ions, so turned them off.

I too am looking at Xiaomi air purifiers but can’t find any good deals. :(

  • The xiaomi 3h doesn’t have all the ion stuff i think

  • SmartAir Blast Mk II looks amazing and I desperately want one, but $600+ shipping to Australia from the official site.
Australian distributor (bstgroup) does free shipping but seems to have the "Blast" (48dB) not "Blast Mk II" (43dB).

As for recommendation: Ikea Starkvind and SmartAir Sqair are pretty good $/CADR.
