Suitable bin liner for 60L wheelie bin

Hi OzBargain'ers,

I'm trying to avoid going down the trial and error approach of buying bin liners to fit a 60L wheelie bin. These are generally the type that can be bought from Cheap as Chips / The Reject Shop (Image: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0369/6738/3099/products/me…). If you've already got this setup, where do you buy your bin liners from? How many in a pack and how much does it cost? Update: This is for a work place environment for people to dispose of general waste (not a home setup), so any help you can give will save me a lot of time.

TIA

What do you plan to throw into the bin?

I don't use one for a wheelie bin. I down cycle shopping bags for rubbish and then into the wheelie bin. If the bin does get dirty, hose it down for a clean.

This ^ any bag that required for larger bin usually need to be good in strength, which is kind of bad for the environment.

    • Not for home, more for a work site for general waste.

        Not for home

Ah The black swan piece of information…

        • Just edited original post to reflect this.

      • Are you only talking about 1 single bin for your business? or does your work have multiple wheelie bins in use??

Why I ask … Does your work generate enough waste to consider a "mini skip bin" - on either a weekly or twice weekly pickup???

Then you won't have to worry about bin liners/etc.

        • It's a education site, in a commercial building, so they get the normal general waste bin that is picked up once a fortnight. I'm doing an overhaul of their recycling general waste, and I was asked to source a bin liner to fit the 'mini' 60L bin (see image link above). I've given them a few options to consider based on the dimensions, so have suggested that they need to find which one best suits their needs.

I "think" these are the ones I've been using in one of those little wheelie bins, they're a slightly tight fit around the top but it's not an issue:

Double check the measurements from here with your bin size:

    • Thanks, I'll check these out. As far as I can tell, the dimensions are: 43cm W x 47cm D x 64cm H

Just powerwash as required. Why introduce even more plastic into the environment?

  • You can buy bin liners from supermarkets.

    • Yes, I did a search, but wanted to know best options.

      • Measure internal bin dimensions, look at dimensions of bags online or in store. Compare prices.

  • 60L is pretty small for a wheelie bin.

    • I've seen them available as a 32L wheelie 'mini' bin.

All the rubbish in my wheelie bin is already bagged.

Except for when I put my bin out too early and one of the neighbours dumps their unbagged rubbish into my bin. When I find out who they are I'm reporting them to the council.
