What is the normal price of refurbished Fetch TV Mini Boxes?

    Seems to always be $49

  • This item is out of stock

  • Question, can I buy this and use it without a fetch account and fetch mighty? I Want to use it just for the apps and YouTube as my Vodafone TV box is starting to die

    • +2

If you just want it for apps, maybe just consider a Fire TV or Chromecast with Google TV?

      • Yeah. Should have jumped on the Fire TV 4K Max deal on Prime Day.

        • I've got a fetch box and Chromecast with Google TV. I use the Chromecast everyday now

        • Note that fire TV requires sideloading of Kayo, might be a deal breaker for lots of people

The Vodafone tv box is so much better than this fetch mini imo.

The fetch box is so slow, limited app support and the navigation to access the apps is still confusing.

In one of our uses we don't have an aerial connection, but the box accurately shows the tv guide, but you can't select to watch from the guide because there is no aerial, so you need to then manually go into the relevant catch up section, open the app, remember the login because the box has inexplicably lost your log in again, and then access the live stream.

Thanks for the above info! I do like the how seamless the Vodafone TV works shame it’s dying but I got it for my mum a good 2 to 3 years ago and she used it daily and never once had an issue. So am hoping to find something just as good as I hate being technical support when something goes wrong lol

Yes I fell for all the marketing BS too myself.

These boxes are super slow and laggy, well, at least mine is and if you look online, on various forums, productreview websites etc, similar reports are all over the place.

I purchased mine new in 2019. It was good to begin with, but last few years updates have made it terribly laggy and slow to use.

Can't turn updates off either, this is why I don't update old hardware usually, manufacturers pump out untested or terrible updates sometimes and renders the hardware essentially useless.
    Almost a forced obsolescence.

    Buyer beware!

Thanks for the heads up. Reminds me of the awful broken state the wdtv live software and note 3 was for final release back in the day. Had to roll-back to an earlier version or custom just to get some form of usable device.

    • You would think the Mighty would be usable and it's a laggy slow POS too.

Packages are cheap but it's not worth it.

I hope they update the hardware on all the fetch boxes after the Telstra acquisition. They're so old!

    • Telstra bought Fetch, thats interesting

i wonder if they will just merge it with foxtel now and bring back some of the channels that made their way to fetch, like Oxygen network… would be a nice one for foxtel to have again

      • Oh I didn't know that. That will be the end of Fetch TV. It's like when 3 mobile got bought out by Vodafone. They migrated everyone onto their network. 3 had the best and cheapest plans on the market at that time. Fetch has made it affordable for people to enjoy some extra cable channels at a much lower price for $6 per pack. You can't get that on Foxtel. It's too over priced now

  • The one thing that stops me from using the one that I was gifted is that they run @ 16watts even in standby…….well there is no standby by the looks of things. FetchTV really need to address that.

  • Damn, out of stock. Would have gotten one for the gym at that price.

  • There is a 4K mini version,.. probably why they've dropped the price on these 1080p mini versions, loving my 4K Fetch Mighty Box 👍😁
