      Dad go to bed.

  • How do these compare to the Olay Regenerate whip sp30 series?

I always feel Neutrogena is more natural than Olay. There is a website incidecoder.com that lets you understand what ingredients a skincare product has and how it might affect you. Highly recommended.

Ingredients list if anyone was looking for it: Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Polyacrylamide, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Dimethiconol, C13-14 Isoparafin, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Chlorphenesin, Carbomer, Laureth-7, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance, C12-14 Pareth-12, Sodium Hydroxide, Blue 1

I've always felt my skin needed a bit of Blue 1.

      • Personally i need more Red 5 in my life

Good thing this has the C12-14 Pareth-12. Because the C12-14 Pareth-11 or under gave me the hibejeebes.

Good stuff but terribly wasteful packaging.

    • +2

Yeah the box is bigger than the plastic tub and the tub is much bigger than the contents. Like buying chips and get 50% of air kind of 'advertising'.

    • Im not sure, but maybe the packaging has insulating properties so it doesnt go bad as quickly from temperature variations?

I know high end night/eye creams usually have lots of double walled tubs

      Edit: handy article

      • Maybe, but they could make the thing about 4x the size instead of a month supply only.

        • Usually good skincare products oxidise easily and have a low open container life though

      • +2

The article you’ve linked is all factual - however, you’ll notice they’re referring to Vitamin C (easily oxidised) and Retinol (easily oxidised.)

For products like this, the ingredients are all stable. They’ll be fine in a jar. There’s nothing in there that is sensitive to light or air.

The jar is 100% designed to make it look like there’s more product. There is no genuine stability benefit. It would easily have a shelf life of >12 months.

        • I don't think a highly reputed corporation like Neutrogena will try to deceive people.

          /Sarcasm

  • I thought it use to be less, but could be wrong.

Bought 1 for the missus. Not what I'm after, but its as close to a miracle cream as it can get.

    • What is it used for?

      • Miracles

      • What is it used for?

Not entirely sure but ordered one so I don't miss out. Should I try to find out what it's used for?

  • Gel cream showing up for $20
