Now she just wants to watch

He needs the second hand though, and needs to find her G Shock

Do you need to guess what time is it or ?

    • +2

      It's a Casio, not a Guess watch.

    • +1

      Even cheaper!

    • +2

124.97 + 18.76 shipping (2-3 weeks) ends up at 143.73. less 5% off for newsletter signup would be $137.48

end clothing only ship fedex so you'll get it much quicker for only $1.52 more.

      • Linked it more for the white accent coloured one which is $104.

    • +1

TicTacArea sells its for approx $105 and free shipping. I got it around that price couple months ago, didn't seem to be a specific sale or anything.

  • +3

There is a new CasiOak with Bluetooth and Solar which is the exact same watch

    • +2

Was torn which one but it was $120+ extra for Bluetooth

      • +4

        https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/g-shock-new-casioak-gab210…

I have been holding out for stores to start stocking them and the metal version does also look good.

Edit: I think you are right the bluetooth and solar just isnt worth it when you could almost buy 2 watches for that price.

        • +1

They have an updated display but not worth the extra 120+

        • i'd pay $120 more for solar and lume on the indices. casio are notoriously stingy with lume on g-shocks. i'm still trying to find a reputable seller for those modded lume inserts.

          • @tdw: Yeah solar and Bluetooth would be handy to keep the time synced and accurate (using phone app), and never have to replace battery. Not sure if it's worth 50-100% more cost or not.

Like you said i don't know why they didn't apply lume on the indices to start with, probably because the light function use for that but less convenient. I like the Auto EL feature on my solar G-5600UE-1DR better.

Anyway not a fan of those stealth ones, not very legible to read the time quickly which is the whole point.

Then you got the new metal versions but A$1000 is ridicuios.

PS. I know a guy on the GC that mods the 2100s, not sure where he got with lume but have a search for @byza_on_watch on Instagram.

It doesn't even have Indiglo 🤮

  • +1

you can find it this price or cheaper in lots of places

  • +6

I have this watch and like it. I work outdoors and have never had a problem reading the face. In low light it can be tough, but I just guess the time after about (and I'm guessing here) 6PM, anyway. Now that neighbours is canned, I don't have to be anywhere to be in the evenings so the exact time is moot.

  • G-Shock Black Noir Edition

  • Good price, but don't know the seller…

    • +1

i've bought clothing from them before more than once, stuff which is hard to find elsewhere. they only ship fedex which is annoying when you only want to buy a couple of shirts

    • +1

they are legit, i've purchased heaps of stuff from them

  • +1

have mine in a metal case classic Royal 🅱roke Ozbargain special

  • So why do you guys like G-Shock? No hate, just curious since I can't see the appeal

    • +7

their robustness mainly, and the ga/gab2100s aren't as ostentatious as other g-shock models. also the sizing suits those with smaller wrists.

    • +4

      They're super versatile and unbreakable.

      • +1

Don't get me wrong I like G-shocks but they definitely aren't unbreakable. At basic training heaps of people bought the expensive ones from the base shop and i reckon at least 5 of them died in weeks. Real weak deaths too, eg strap pins, water damage etc. My 10 dollar Kmart version survived lol

        • Depends how rough you are, most people wouldn't have an issue but probably depends on the model etc. Still a good cheap beater, I don't personally see the point of spending too much on them tho, as if becomes fashion over function (even though they are loaded with functions).

        • Obviously they're not unbreakable. No product can truly be. It's hyperbole for being able to take a beating.

          • @Munki: I get that, these ones just died shockingly easy. Maybe they were fakes

            • @900dollaridoos: I will say the GA2100s are most likely more fashion than utility.

              • @Munki: They got all the functions but the LCD display is pretty small. I like the digital analogue hands, the weight and thickness but not really the rest. The band is pretty comfortable.

              • @Munki: i find 2100s practical for my needs — light, not bulky but still durable. i primarily wanted a g-shock analogue over a digital display and the 2100's clean layout makes it easy to read the time (and day, if i forget!) at a glance while still being able to set alarms, view the date and all those other standard casio features, if need be.

    • +6

      godtier

    • guess you don't do any outdoor work or leisure activities?

    • Yeah robust, light, accurate, street smart/retro appeal, relatively cheap and the 2100 is one of the thinnest so not big and bulky. Just fun IMO.

    • Well not so much the gshock for me, but the casioak because I can't afford a royal oak…

      • Nothing like it to be honest but vaguely same shape

    • +1

This model is a lot slimmer than their other G-Shock models

It's light, affordable, long battery life and simple without being boring (subjective I know)

I use mine for surfing, mountain biking, etc. and hasn't broken like other watches I own

Paid $190 for mine a few months ago, so right now this looks like a steal

  • I got it when they had extra 15% off sale items with a few other items…So about $118. That was the cheapest around town.

  • Just fyi, I bought the green one because I like watches but they are really quite tiny. I have smallish wrists for a male and it still wears small. Cool watch though

    • +1

I actually think it wears really well for my average wrist, love the lower profile as it doesn't get caught as much. Only thing with the black would be hard to read at night as others have said the indices are poorly lit. Mine is the grey version and very visible.

  • The website thinks I’m a bot and blocked me :(

    • Well are you?

still rocking my f91w after 12 years the resin strap is starting to tear and the strap holder broke on my recent trip. have taken it around multiple countries during my travels. still haven't changed the battery either. best $5 spent on a watch.
