Edifier S3000PRO - 2.0 Lifestyle Active Bookshelf Bluetooth Studio Speakers $699 Delivered @ Wireless 1

280

Tonight, I unboxed my pair and saw this deal, thought to help others.

Spent about 2 hours listening from Tidal, they are sweet as. I definitely need to break them in but they already sound super duper detailed, they are so heavy like 25 Kg.

I hope someone benefits from this sale. The remote is cool, just click a button and you can change the source. They're bulky, you'll need to put them on proper stands. Can't put them on your desktop.

I never ever thought I would buy an edifier, I think someone on ozbargain kind of convinced me to try lol

Great speakers and a good price. I paid a bit more and have zero regrets.

You might be able to snag them a bit cheaper on Wireless 1's eBay.
I see a price of $729 and a "Save AU $60.00 on this item. Show me how" link.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/283491719031

    • Which code does $60? I only see $36.45 discount from PLUSAUG1 code.

        $673.60 delivered with code PAUG12 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/124239875022

I see a SNSMID~ spend and save code on the Wireless1 listing for $60 like MisterTree. Not sure if it’s Plus only

      • Seems to be a spend and save code (whatever that means). Also appears in MyEbay vouchers as "Spend & Save up to $120*. *T&Cs apply"
I'm not an eBay plus user.

    • My speakers look two different colors, bass driver on left is all black, on right it's white. What really happened to the aesthetics

      • That doesn't seem right. All black here and every pic I've seen. Do they sound good, maybe a manufacturing defect? If you're not happy contact Wireless 1; I would expect them, to refund or exchange them.

        • They sound prefect, I don't think there's an issue with working. One drive is white other is black. I did Google and nobody has ever reported it. I sent the photo to edifier directly. I'll talk to wireless 1.

I have been buying speakers all my life, never seen this.

  • Is there a step down model that is still pretty decent? I'd spend 200-300 but not 700 for my office setup

      S2000 perhaps

    • I had a similar budget. I got R2750's usually around $249 although can be found cheaper from time to time. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/edifier-r2750db

    • I bought a pair of 1855s for my office. Properly good speakers for games/music/movies sitting close. Can be had for like $190 on Amazon atm.

    • People here love every Edifier model on offer because of their value for money! Got the S350DB (2.1, I like my bass) for $300 recently

    • I just went through this whole exact process before just deciding to take a break until my new DAP arrives.

The 1280s are good value for money, they punch above their weight but they aren't flawless.

The next step above those that are worth the jump are the 1850's or 1855, everything in between are probably not worth the bother.

Your other option is the Eris 3.5 which is a different idea to the Edifiers but get a good rep.

They also have the S2000MKIII for $399 which seems like a good price. I'm in the market for some speakers to use with my projector in my room but I'm using a chromecast for video so the only way i can get sound out of it would probably be bluetooth from the chromecast to the speakers so not sure if there would be lag or how good the quality would be. I've heard good things about the speakers though.

399 is a good price, I obsessively watched prices for nearly 6 months waiting for it to dip under 439. Now that it’s back I cbf anymore…

    • There are adapters you can get to strip the audio signal out of HDMI…and apparently they work well and are fairly cheap. Just search Amazon for HDMI to Optical for example.

I've been doing some research myself for a similar set-up to yours.

So I decided to pickup a set of the 2000's. $399. I'll let you know how it goes. :). I should be able to extract the audio via optical from the Chromecast so should work good enough.

        • Does the chromecast have an optical out?

          • +1

@beebul: Nah I bought an audio extractor from Amazon. They seem to review ok

            • @krammis76: Cool would appreciate hearing your experience with that set-up as I am looking at purchasing very similar.

              What projector you have?

              Cheers
              David

@beebul: Yeah no worries when it comes in i'll let you know. I have a cheap projector from Amazon actually. The Yaber 5G WiFi Bluetooth Projector i think it's called. It's usually $399 but often has $70 to $100 off codes. I'm super pleased with it to be honest. I just use it in my room for my computer and chromecast. It's 1080p and works great for the price. The audio on it is passable but not great. So that's why i want something good. :)

                • @krammis76: Cool I was looking at that projector as an upgrade for the cheap 720p one I got on here a while ago for a laughable $75! It's not too bad but I fancy an upgrade. Just use for playing some games and Kodi/ streaming in the bedroom.

    • If your projector has S/PDIF (optical audio) out you can connect it directly to the speakers, they even come with a cable.

      • Thanks mate, unfortunately my projector doesn't have optical out. I've purchased an optical extractor from amazon so i'll see how that goes. Cheers.

Hi bargainers, I've followed everyone's interest in the Bluetooth edifers. Is there an app or a way to add 4 of these and create a surround sound system? Not specifically this model but some of their other models?

    • Edifier home app, I don't know if Bluetooth surround is possible but you can surely connect with your receiver line out to get the surround with RCA cables.

    This one or A100?

    • This is what I'd like to know too!

    • If budget is of no concern then go with A series. I read a review between A300 and S3000pro, winner in verdict was s3000pro for value of money and superb detail.

  • These look great and they don't seem to need a subwoofer as I've been wanting to upgrade my soundbar for a while. Op - what stand are you using with yours? Happy for anyone else to chime in with a suggestion. Thanks

    • +1

I put them on top of a pair of stands I bought from Selby, my Focal Chorus are sitting beneath these s3000pro.

You can go with the edifier stands to get a matching look. Stands matter a lot for bookshelf speaker so please spare some budget.

The tweeter should be at ear height or slightly higher or lower if you feel that sound is bright.

  • What subwoofer are you using with s3000pro? I have a small room so I'm thinking T5, just to fill in the gap.

  • How do these compare to the Swan MKIII

  • Do these need to be connected to an amp?

    • +1

They have built in amp in both speakers, they're active speakers
