Fathers Day Gift Ideas

Hello all,

Fathers Day is coming up and the family are asking me for present ideas. I have never been big on presents and I have enough socks and undies to last me a life time. I lead a pretty simple life. I don't want things, I am more of practical person just owning the stuff I need.
If I had it my way, I would get nothing but my family feel terrible when they don't get me something, so I end up with something cheap that I don't want or need, or something expensive which I didn't want or need either.

Anyone else in the same boat as me? Should I just get another coffee mug that I will never use to keep the family happy? Do I continue my frugal existence or live my life a little?

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2022.

if you don't want things, ask for an experience. a trip, camping, hotel, whatever you like. doesn't have to be expensive, or even cost anything at all (camping), your family will probably be satisfied with taking you somewhere, they can spend as much or as little as they like, and you don't get stuck with something you don't want.

  • Can’t go wrong with a nice leatherman. There is one for every budget. I personally like the wave ( I have two).

A nice leather belt goes a long way too.
I think $140 (rrp, you can get better deals) for an rm Williams belt is a good go to. And will last you years.

If you only want to set a low-ish budget, say $30-50, what about a nice high power torch. I personally like Wuben c3. I have three now. One in my edc bag, one in my car and 1 in my workshop. Charges off usb and holds charge well, and exceedingly bright for a small package.

My mother In law gets me an event cinemas gift card or a really nice $70 steak I can cook up myself at home and enjoy, obviously she knows I love movies and good quality steaks depends what you like ?

If they're young, get them to make you something. A card, breakfast. If they're a bit older, do chores to help out so you can sleep in.

It's not about presents, it's about gratitude.

  • Get Snacks? At least you can eat it :).

A smart watch, if you don’t have one?

  • I always ask for some artwork from the kids….

  • Are you sure you don't want to request a diamond rolex?

  • A thoughtful gift perhaps just a card with your appreciation or gratitude over the years with family messages.

Otherwise a printed photo mug or something that can be used meanwhile recall memories
