You can save an extra $40 odd if you go for the F version (non-integrated graphics). Otherwise J&W also has it for $289. Slightly less on Kogan / Dick Smith if you have credits there. I bought mine at the start of the year for around $350 so under $300 is good and price will drop further after Raptor appears.

Thanks for the reply. I was wanting to steer clear of the F version so I could utilise the integrated graphics while I waited for a deal on a cheap GPU. Not sure if that is the best reason or not. I don't think I would utilise Quicksync.

Good to know that $289 is a pretty good price. Surely prices will get even better with Raptor Lake as you say.

      • I also opted for the non-F version in case my GPU stopped working and for troubleshooting. The intel 12 series is also a good entry point as I was upgrading from an i5 4690. Also the same mobo should be compatible for the 13 series so you can upgrade after a few years without having to change the mobo or RAM.

  • Depending on how long you'd like to wait for the GPU the 12500 might be good value for $325 (QLD, Gamedude). The UHD 770 is clearly better than the UHD 730 for light gaming.

I think 12400 would drop to the $240 range by November though.

  • Haha, I was actually thinking the same thing and have been pricing up a 12500.
Can get for $319 through Computer Alliance direct or via Amazon/Ebay.
Looks like I've missed the $289 boat for a 12400.

Not in too much of a hurry for a GPU. Hoping for a 6700xt or 6700xt at a hot price. Might need to wait for next-gen cards to be released first?

    • That's what OP had found! 😁
