Always wondered - when you win a car, is there a clause stating you can't just .. sell it off? To buy a car you actually want for example lol. Or a 'grace period' of use?

Usually buried in the TOC is an option to refuse the car but accept a lower cash amount.
An unexpected surprise with these wins is you may have to pay taxes on the value of the car. When you can't do that, winners are forced to sell.

5 minutes after warranty runs out every single CEL will appear, DSG will self implode, and timing chain tensioner might just fail lol…
Great car, drives super well and handles like a sporty hatchback just not reliable.
So far I've had front wheel bearings fail (wrong grease used from factory), thermostat housing crack, driver side rear door lock fail. Luckily warranty covered it all!
I think moving to something like Outlander in future makes sense, given the 10 year warranty. Less worrying about the car.
get rid of it right now is my advice. previous tiguan owner here. never buying another VW again!!! its nice when it works, but every year you will have a 2k repair bill.

Just at present the car market is so cooked, sure I can get rid of it but finding a replacement car is going to cost so much time/money due to supply issues, dealers not willing to move on price, etc.
