Great deal for this lens!
Amazon also had stock but it looks like it went out really fast!

Few others also selling at this price but from DigiDirect.

It also says you will get 11,245 Qantas points!

    • and if you use the points your bags arrive a week after you do

    Back breaking 2kg.

    • +4

weight is fine for what you get.

    • Would help if you stated whether you currently own or ever owned or used one(?) It's 2600gm actually, and I have no issues with weight and am very pleased with it's performance having taken it with me on plenty of trips around OZ and OS. I paid ~$1650 at the time (RRP was $1999).

Big glass, long lens, physics says you can't make this light.

2kg is pretty reasonable for a lens in this class.

Used to have this lens, nicely sharp, the fixed aperture is handy and the OS works really nicely.
Annoyances: the lens hood is crap and always comes off, and the zoom ring has a heap of throw so not good to get from 200-500 fast.

  • Ridiculous bargain. Should be double the price.

    I’m predicting a sellout by 3pm.

    Scalpers - don’t waste time!

Only 6 remaining. I’d buy the lot had I the spare funds..

    • OOS already! Those scalpers were one step ahead.. Well done!

      • I was just about to push the button and they've gone.

But I don't think it was scalpers. Only 5 show as selling in the last two days, so maybe it was a price error and digiDirect pulled it.

        • +1

Yes, my mistake - wasn't the scalpers this time, but rather a company having second thoughts on a sale. Time will tell if they're honourable or not.

Though if Amazon had them for the same price, it can't be an error.

        • They’re still available on Mydeal, it says sold by DigiDirect though. Shows 9 available

  • Maybe you can get other places to price match Mydeal

  • This dodgy company decided to cancel my legitimate single order claiming goods are out of stock or damaged.

That would be fine, except their website was showing at least 6 in stock at the time of my purchase.

A bunch of liars who I will never trust again.

    Boycott DigiDirect.

    • They've been like this for a while now. From other's experience, only their ebay stock is accurate.

      • +3

On eBay they were showing at least 6 in stock when I purchased. If this was indeed a price error, I can accept that, but they should convey that clearly.

Instead, their cancellation email indicates they are out of stock or have damaged goods (they cannot sell) - which is a load of rubbish.

        • This item or something else?

I purchased this lens and digidirect have advised it was a “glitch” and refunded my purchase. A bit disappointed.
“Note from Seller: Hi XX , We are sending you and email to advise of a glitch with pricing on My Deal and we will need to cancel this order and refund your payment. We apologise for the inconvenience. Jaya”

    • +4

Hmmm hard to believe they had a “glitch” on DigiDirect, EBay, Mydeal and Catch all sold from DigiDirect themselves.

  • Thats great price especially given the inflation. Looks like the F mount is going cheap now,
