FlyBuys Ombudsman in NSW?

Is there anyway accessing an ombudsman type organisation to collect FlyBuys that are redeemable but the vendor will not honour? ( Coles CC sign up 40,000)

The Coles team acknowledge I have met requirements but cannot work out why I have not been credited. And there default response is we'll get back to you …but never do

Would be a shame to led Coles off the hook for $200 , when they have charged me the annual $100 CC fee already.

    Have you made a complaint or an inquiry over the phone/email about the missing points?

    You need to make a formal complaint about it. You will need to figure out how to do this yourself as I do not know how to make a Coles formal complaint, but the detaisl should be on the coles web site somewhere.

    The ombudsman for credit card disputes (and other financial services) is the AFCA. To escalate your complaint to AFCA you need to first exhaust the internal complaints process for the card issuer.

    • This. The company to approach is FlyBuys, Coles doesn't have access to the systems to actually credit the points.

    Why didn't you just cancel the card before the fee kicks in and apply for another?

      Sounds like a new signup, so you can't/wouldn't cancel before you even start doing X to get the signup bonus.

  • Not sure how you will go, but I think it would fall under the Banking/Financial ombudsman (ie. you took out a financial product and they have failed to honour the terms).

    1.Coles internal complaint ( I've exhausted chat,phone lines etc)
    2. Then AFCA

    A lot of grind to do for $100.

    Aside from this, my consumer experience of the Coles ecosystem has been poor and cost a lot of time for no significant bargains

    = failed Click & Collect ( no-one available to bring goods to car )
    = Click & Collect unavailbilty of product around 40,%
    = Paywave on CC only Apple and Samsung
    =low fi Apps and website
    = This points thing

    There's pretty much no way of dodging the first year cc fee
    Also how long have they had to sort it out?

    Set a deadline, with the next step as going to a regulator as discussed above.
