Sea Eagles Seats at Brookvale (4 Pines) Oval

I'm planning to go to my first Sea Eagles game this Saturday arvo with my 11y.o. son and his mate and another dad. I'm trying to figure out what seats would be the right choice. We want to be somewhat close to the action, but I probably don't want to pay much more than around $40/ticket. There seems to be a lot of general admission tickets, and I know there's a grass hill etc. I would like to be able to have a couple of beers, but don't want to be with the drunks/yahoos, as i've found at cricket games it can be a little too colourful for kids to be around. Is G.A. good? Should i pay up a bit more to get seats in a section? If it rains, probably a seat would be much better I suppose.

I'm looking for suggestions of what seats would be best for us. Thanks!

If it’s anything like Newcastle games, seating tickets don’t even start until we’ll into the $40+ range. The closer to the game the more you will pay. The closer to the centreline you sit, the more expensive it will be. For under $40, you will be looking at right up the back and right to one end, or general admission on a grassed area that will have 2000 other drunk and belligerent arseholes all jostling for space to spill their beers. (Not that stadium seating will be without drunks, they inhabit there as well.)

Booking this late in the season, you most probably won’t get a seat in the stadium section anyway. General admission seems to be your only real hope of getting in, and you are best to get there as the gates open to be in any chance of getting a good vantage point.

You can find a map of the oval and available seating and ticketing prices from the Ticketmaster website.

Pffft general entry all the way. The only rowdy people there will be the (profanity) from the shire.

Best memories of my childhood standing on the grass at brooky.

Apparently theyre expecting a few more yobbos than normal. They are looking for extra RSA Marshalls.

Northern Sydney Bogans v's Southern City Eshays, cant see why they would need more RSA officials.

OP is in for an awakening…

OP here - Everyone will be happy to know that I went for the GA seats. All the assigned seats were either restricted view, or in the away team's section. We'll just plan to get there early to claim a spot with our picnic blanket and cucumber sandwiches. I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes!

    • How'd it go?

Well, the Sea Eagles horrible season continued on Saturday night, and they were humiliated by the Sharks. We brought a rug and found a spot to sit on the hill, but it seemed we were surrounded by Sharks fans! There was little to cheer for on our side. DCE got a try at the end, and they dusted off the fireworks for that at least.

The view was great, and I would definitely recommend GA seating. I think there's less time for people to get drunk and rowdy, during a League game compared to cricket. Also when I went to get a beer, the line took around 25 minutes, so you would have to work hard to get more than 3 beers in you throughout an entire game. The kids went down to meet players at the end, and although the Manly team was understandably not interested in hanging around, they got photos with some of the stars anyway.
