    • Oh what a killer deal!!! Too bad i can’t cancel my order. Its on its way.
But price has been up and down as i have been watching it for a week also.

    • Awesome tip!

  • I think for cfb card you can use m.2 adaptors ?

Not a bad price, I paid $214 in March. Just gotta keep an eye out on the price fluctuations.

    Also suits Nikon Z6 and Z7, Lumix S1 and S1R. Source: https://camerajabber.com/buyersguides/which-cameras-use-cfex…

What do you guys think of ProGrade https://www.amazon.com.au/ProGrade-Digital-128GB-CFexpress-M…
    $163.88

Also, I have Sony XQD card and card reader (https://www.memoryc.com/24088-sony-usb3-0-memory-card-reader…). Do I need to buy a CF express card reader if I bought this card?

    • +1

Depends on your camera. I was looking at https://alikgriffin.com/best-memory-cards-canon-r5/ for an R5 and it said the Prograde Gold didn't perform well. That website has at least cards for R6 tested too, you could check if your camera is listed. I went with Lexar Professional for price/performance.

    • +1

I think Pro Grade is a notch in quality above Lexar nowadays. But, it sounds like you have a Sony camera. Do note that Sony uses type A. Lumix, Canon and Nikon use type B.

      • I have a Nikon Z6 and Z6II.

        • +1

I've had that ProGrade card in a Z7 for almost 2 years. No issues.

    • Looking at that link for the card reader, its a type A CF card used by Sony cameras. For this one you will need a card reader that supports type B.

  • Wish Sony used Type Bs instead of Type As.

    • The pro with type A is that it is more compact and has similar dimension to SD card so they can share the same slot. The pro with type B is that its max theoretical speed doubled type A. Feels like the standard battle of Sony memory stick vs SD card, or Beta vs VHS for those with long memory…

      • As well as being faster, type B is available in larger capacities and is much cheaper than Type A as well! I'd happily buy a 512GB Type B for $800 or the 1TB cards for $1000+ but I'm not even considering the 160GB Sony Type A cards at $500.

Sony is the best fit for my needs right now but I hate the Type A format so much lol. One of my major pain points though I understand not everyone will have the same view.

This ain't it fam. The Prograde is much less for the same speed and capacity Prograde

And for more capacity the Angel bird 512gb for $339 is much better value. Angelbird

Both of the above being from Australian sellers and faster shipping.

    • From the Angelbird website, it sounds like some of the the CFexpress Angelbird versions SE or SX or MK2 on certain cameras need the latest card firmware which needs their card reader to install. Worth checking first, especially if you have a different reader. That Angel Bird SE 512Gb is amazing price, even though it has slower write speeds.

    • Thoughts on the Angelbird AV Pro 512GB from Amazon US for USD180? I have someone in the US at the moment who will be coming back in a couple of months. Works out to be just under AUD260.

      • You would save GST and postage, seems a good strategy. Angelbird seems to have a 3 yr warranty if activated on their website. Can't easily see whether its international warranty or what.

        • After adding taxes (applicable to the state it is being delivered to), it ends up being AUD285. It's AUD319 from ebay after applying discount code.

  • +1

Buy the 512GB Angelbird AV PRO SE, far better value than this and an excellent card.

  • Currently around 10x the cost of an SD card of equivalent size. They know how to milk the pro market. XQD and CFast already 'old hat'
