JB, Harvey and Amazon all have it for $78. Would be a nice find if it was found somewhere for $69 (nice, and unlikely) but besides that it's been easily available at this price for more than a month or two.

  • +2

Yeah I doubt it will go down in price like the shitty battlefield 2042. Modern warfare went up during covid and only now has gone down

  • +1

    Wen gamepass?

    • +7

Best guess is midway through next year. But is all a gamble.

  • Any idea where the cheapest place for PC is? It's releasing on steam this time around so hoping for some cheap keys.

    • cheap keys for this game before release? extremely unlikely IMO

    • +5

      $110 for PC is insane

  • Been $78 since 15 June

  • Pre-ordered this for $55 using my Turkey account.

    • +6

Your Turkey uses steam? That's amazing.

      • No. I used my Turkey PSN account.

      • +1

        Got the whole squad laughing

  • +2

Is this a new game or a game that came out in 2009??

    • new one I think

    • Sequal to the 2019 modern warfare

  • I wish the maps at launch were better. MW2 had by far the best maps

  • COD games rarely go down in value.

I never play them, I just play Warzone but that's why I'm thinking to buy to play multiplayer for a while before Warzone drops.

    • Id highly say this MW2 will take a large chunk of the player base from the original.
Seeing as all current BF releases all relied on "Warzone" as its Multiplayer and MW2 is expected to launch with "Warzone 2"

      • MW19 is in such a bad state, it would be staggering if anything more than a tiny portion stayed.

    • Let's get a loady

    Too violent

    • Why?

    • oh boy wait until you see games with actual gore

  • If I can this on PC for $60 like I did with Vanguard I'll be cheering. Until then no deal!

    • get ready to wait 6 months, at the minimum.

    • if you have a xbox, may be it can be played using k/b & mouse, I got xbox one vanguard for $19 from previous deal and playing it using k/b and mouse. PC version was expensive.

people still dumb as shit buying an old game brought back to life… its as bad as classic wow. so many suckers.. so many sheep.

  • Something is not right about this cycle. The hype level is pretty low which is unusual. There are not much discussions, not much marketing, just nothing in general. Im not saying Activision has to hype it to BF2042 levels but perhaps they are keeping base expectations low to "blow everyone away" with the end product. It is just very strange and it feels like the developers are not confident of the product.

    • everyone's waiting for info on warzone 2.

Multiplayer had massively died since warzones existence sadly.

      • Not everyone loves Warzone. Im more of a traditional 6v6 TDM person. But sadly Warzone has killed multiplayer.

        • Me too. Have zero interest in the battle royale fad.

    • Have heard quite a few pro players say they have the game and refuse to play it because they hate it.

MW22 had a COVID affected development cycle which could be why it's behind. MW19 took the same amount of time to develop, with Warzone, and no COVID.

This is supposed to be the biggest CoD release ever yet they've barely shown anything, and releasing the beta so close to the real game. That is NEVER a good sign.

      • Never listen to what a pro player or streamer says. Fk em. The only time I lend an ear is when they talking about META that's it.

        • There’s no such thing as a Pro CoD player. I’ve loved CoD for nearly 2 decades, but it certainly isn’t a professional competitive game.

Anyone claiming to be a Pro is just a Twitch show pony.

          • @PainToad: Eh, bad take. Pro level CoD is way harder than what you think. The teamwork, planning, stratting and skill required to compete at the top level is insane.

            • @pharcyde: Yeah nah. Any series that has a new game every year or so can't be seriously competitive.

They have competitions sponsored by Activation, but that's just marketing to trick kids into thinking it's a serious eSports game.

              • +1

@PainToad: That seems like a rather arbitrary and irrelevant criteria for what constitutes eSports.

There is the CDL which is run by Activision and heaps of other independent tournaments and competitions run across the world. No offence but I don't really think you're informed about the scene.

                • @pharcyde:

That seems like a rather arbitrary and irrelevant criteria for what constitutes eSports.

Not really. You've got CSGO which is nearly 10 years old. Which was evolutionary from CS from 1999. That's a long time for players to develop their skills and become incredibly familiar with the maps.

Compared to CoD where every year there's a new game with not just new maps and weapons, but often completely new gameplay. One year CoD might be a modern shooter, the next it's WW2 and then players could be running up the walls shooting lasers.

Every year the developed skills of "Pros" reset. That doesn't allow for s serious eSport to develop.

                  • @PainToad: Right but that's not really a reason for it not to be considered eSports. Again, it's just some arbitrary reason you've come up with. Pro players play the same small handful of maps for probably 60-70 hours a week for most of the year. Some maps are from previous CoD titles that are 10-15 years old like Crash, Raid etc. There's only so much on a map you'll discover and learn.

There are new maps but they all largely follow the same 3 lane formula - at least the maps that are played competitively are. There's new guns but they're largely based off previous titles (CW AK, MW AK, BO3 AK etc). Sometimes there are new modes but majority like Hardpoint/Domo/SND have been CoD staples for 10-15 years.

WW2, Futuristic or Modern style settings doesn't matter; the same skills are required to be good at the game. You still need great aim, fantastic communication skills, intelligent positioning, game knowledge etc. Advanced movement mechanics are a small learning curve, and there hasn't been a non-BOTG title since IW in 2016.

Skills are not reset every year. Not at all. These skills are transferrable title to title which is why if you're a pro at say Vanguard, you're obviously going to be a pro at MW22.

    • The last three were hyped a lot and did not live up to their hype. Activision seem careful this time around.

Apologies to some, but a heads up to those that might not know. The developer Infinity Ward and their capabilities for COD games are what make a game any good. COD MW2 is a completely new game and developed by the same team at Infinity Ward as the previous COD MW 2019. Activision are only the publisher. A much higher chance of being way better than Vanguard by developer Sledgehammer or Black Ops by Treyarch. I always wait for the COD MW games developed by Infinity Ward. I skip the others…… Just my personal taste but the Infinity Ward COD games are solid.
