Karcher K4 or Gerni for car wash?

I’m looking to get Karcher K4 for washing car. I’ve not looked into Gerni or other brand yet. I’ve decided to get K4 due to good reviews and wider availability of aftermarket things. My questions are:
1- K4 will be good enough and reliable being metal motor?
2- I’ll need to get a better hose as factory one is messy to use?
3- I’ll need to get short handle for better handling?

What else would I need to get to use Bowden’s Snow?

I cant really compare the 2, but i expect them to be similar if they are the same price.

RE snow foam, jump on ebay and get a compatible lance for $20 (overseas) - $30 (local)

They look like this and the end specific to the pressure washer brand

    • Bowden makes one too. Isnt it

Try it first before buying these things. I don't think either of them are really an issue.

  • If you use those once a week or once a month, then either one is ok. Sometimes they fail for no reason, sometimes they will outlast you. Please check the specification (water pressure etc…) and choose which fits you. To wash a car, the specification does not matter much. But, if you plan to clean the driveway or backyard (or deck) in the future then you need to check those numbers as well.

Which one is recommended to clean moss from concrete?

  • I have had both brands, the Gerni is the better product.

    • In what aspects? And which model?

    • What model Karcher and Gerni. Anything K3 and below is just a hobby grade item.

      • What is the equivalent of K4 in Gerni which you consider a better machine?

  • I have a K4 compact. Picked it up for $270 recently too.

A longer hose will make life easier. 6m will likely be fine. Be careful you don't buy the old K4 fitting.
    The handle is fine.

You will need the a foamlance attchment. The Karcher ones are expensive. You can get a large capacity one off eBay.

    • Whats the primary difference between compact and normal K4? and where did you get it for $270

      • Attachments, hose length.Same pump etc Got it with the deck/floor spinny thing. Bunnings, they were doing a clearance on the compact units. Funnily enough sold my old one for the same price.

You don't need too much pressure if it's for car washing only.
    I bought Gerni 3600 recently ($219).
It has a car nozzle included which is much safer for car paint.
I'm going to buy hose extension ($50) as 6m is not enough for my car.

    For the snow cannon,
I think the adapters for Karcher and Gerni are included in bowdens one, so you should be fine.
Bowdens is on sale in repco. $84 for cannon and 1L mega snow job.

  • Pressure washers don't wash cars. They remove debris (mud/sand etc) but you can still wipe your ginger on the paint to remove road grime etc.
