  • So is it $1 for the birthday person only, or everyone coming along?

    • Everyone coming along so you can invite your extended family and friends and acquaintances; heck, even your Ozbargain family.

I don't think this is right.

        From the registration page:

Can I bring family and friends with me?
Yes, they can purchase tickets ahead of time via our website to save 10% off or purchase additional tickets at the gate.

        • +3

Do I need to put /s for you?

Imagine you went there on your BD and invited the the whole crowd in for $1.

          And someone did that everyday.

          • +2

@ihbh: It's not out of the realm of possibility that everyone in your group could be admitted for $1, considering you have to apply for and pre-print tickets apparently.

Also these places make a ton of money from visitors buying food and merch.

So yes, in this case I'd say you should've added the sarcasm indicator because it wasn't obvious.

Someone should start an app to match you with people who all share the same birthday and can take advantage of free food and birthday activities together. Birthder. Patent pending.

How do they know my birthday?

    • +11

Don't be silly JV, people born in a test tube don't have a birthday.

      • +1

How many people are born in a test tube?

        • +3

Depends how big the tube is

          • @tonsta: 15ml

            • @jv: I like this thread someone keep the ball rolling

              Ok I'll do it

I think their birthday is when they pour you into the next thing

      • Don’t you think all of us are somehow conceived or born out of some kind of tube? Quite often, it’s kinda ‘test’ tube? (As our parents were testing the … tubes)

    • just look up your birth certificate

      • some people don't have one.

    • +2

Valid proof of your birth date and ID, along with your birthday ticket, will be requested when you visit.

      • Yeah, but like how would they know?

  • Upto 15th Nov only.

    • +5

December babies just had a cry.

    • I think it's not end at that time, it's just only allow you to buy ticket in advance up to 90 days.

  • +2

Great promotion, I have only took it up in 2018, I tried to go again in 2019 but when I got there I was told they stopped it. I didn't know the brought it back in 2020, then they probably stopped it again for COVID or other reasons in 2021. I would have taken the 2022 offer up but my birthday has passed already. Ah well.

(It did suck though thinking the offer was still running taking leave off worth to attend the zoo then finding out it wasn't on so then going back an hour)

  • +2

yes this is a mad fun day , they give you a badge as well .

  • -4

Wouldn't you have better things to do on your birthday though?

    • +1

many would, some might not. seems like a good initiative even if its barely taken up

    • +1

Depends what you are into on your bday. Getting sloshed. Then it's a no.

      • +2

Getting sloshed at the zoo. Then Yay.

    • +3

Your mom's all booked out tho.

    • +3

Lol why do you care what people do on their bdays? I have done this twice, went during the day when mates were all at work, was a great way to kill some time and see some bb animals.

      • Did you find that time reasonably quiet or still busy with families?

        • It wasn't quiet, there were plenty of families as my bday is during the school holidays but there was plenty of space for everyone, it by no means packed.

  • how long are they valid? can i buy for next year?

    • No, last date on the booking site is 15 November 2022.

      • that sucks, my bday just passed

  • +3

what a strange coincidence that myself, entire family and friends are all born on the same day!! /s

  • +2

    $1 for "birthday person only"
anyone go along has to pay full price of the ticket
been there done there many times
they fix you up at the spot as long as you hold valid ID on you

  • Non aussie passport is fine?

    • just get a valid ID on you
rather book online if you prefer using any other document
      i.e no need passport

  • Every day's your birthday at Taronga Park Zoo

  • So can I go to the zoo on my birthday in my birthday suit?

    • They could confuse you for an exhibit that got out of their cage.

  • If u go there by yourself will they let u in for free cause like you know. No friends on your birthday. Asking for a friend
