I was looking to add the Standing Cover with Pen to my Samsung EDU Store pre-order when the Graygreen colour was out of stock so I started Googling and came across this.

This item will be released on September 2, 2022.

Cheaper than the Samsung current discount and other retailers which are selling at ~$104. E.g.

  My problem with this kind of spen case (and any hinge-cover spen case) is that you can't put the phone flat on a surface without taking the pen holder part out right? Therefore the Spigen z fold pen case is the only one without this weakness, as it hold the pen at the edge of the phone

    The real question is why didn't Samsung create a place for the spen in the body?

    It's a $2500 phone and we have to resort to cases to hold a core component of the phone.

    I've been a note user for years, this is the only thing holding me back from adopting the fold series.

      Probably because lack of space, complexity and rigidity of a foldable phone. Im sure the engineers would of thought about it, but at the end of the day, if the fold series did have a pen, it would kinda kill its own line-up of the note series.

        I hear you. Point is, its a glaring omission from what should be a feature "complete" product. I don't think it'll kill note series (they've done that themselves anyway) because not everybody wants a foldable.

          @butter: I think because they want to keep Fold series a "realistic" price. That's the same reason why they are not using the best camera on Fold 4 like the one on S22 Ultra. Can they put the best camera, built-in pen slot or the ability to use S-pen on front screen? Obviously they can, but imagine the price you have to pay for it, probably the same price as the upcoming rtx 4090 lol.
          I think for next year (or the upcoming years), they will introduce 2 different Fold models, a normal one like every year and an Ultra one like the S series. The Ultra one will have all the top specs from camera, built-in S-pen… basically the top notch technology for people who can afford to buy one. But for now they just want to play safe with the Fold 4 I guess.
          Just hoping those Oppo/Vivo/Xiaomi foldable will have a global version, then Samsung has to make the changes soon.

        Yes very true. I was tempted to buy this case but instead went for a cheap $18 S Pen case from eBay that has an elastic pocket for a S Pen. Have the S Pen from my Fold 3 so will use that. I found that I probably used the S Pen maybe 10 times in the year I've had the Fold 3.

          @10101010101: Yer I bought spen case for s21 ultra but hated it. Now I got s22 used it less then 10 times. Now going for fold 4 since battery life and cameras are better.

          How did you find fold 3? How was it in the pocket? Did you use with case?

            @Jklaro: Fold 3 was good and my Fold 4 is even better. Front screen is wider and hinge is thinner. Surprisingly more impactful than you think especially if upgrading from the 3 to 4. Mine was delivered today.

  Very good design.
  Z Fold phone has to be very thin, otherwise when it folded will come too thick.
  So it doesn't come with good camera and S pen as Galaxy ultra.

  Has anybody been able to get this in-store yet? The early deliveries of the pre-orders means I can't use this phone until Sept 2nd.
  Scared of using it without a case

    @breadboi Same as you, my phone arrived early so I couldn't wait for the Amazon pre-order date. I ended up going to JB to ask for a price match.

    Because the Amazon listing is still a pre-order, your success of a price match will depend on who you get and their mood. I wasn't able to get the match, but they did discount to $94 which was good enough for me and in my hand now.

    BTW the grey green standing case with pen stock is very low in Victoria. Apparently only 15 state-wide. There were at least 5 black and beige out on the stand in the City Elizabeth St store. You can check the store stock reading on the product page.

      Damn, I checked a few JBs in Sydney but none of them have it yet, despite what it says online haha.
