2022 Polygon Siskiu D5 Dual-Suspension Bike - $1049 (30% off) + Delivery @ BikesOnline

210

This is a record discount on the Siskiu D5.
I've never seen it this low.

The Siskiu D5 is the lowest speced version of the Siskiu range of bikes (the Siskiu T8 is what Amy Morrison won her 3rd Enduro US National Championships on) but still a really good buy.

Fork: SR Suntour XCM HLO, Coil Spring
Rear Shock: SR Suntour Raidon LO, Air Spring
Drive train: Shimano Alivio/Altus 2x9-Speed
Crankset: 36x22T
Wheels: 27.5" (making the bike quick and nimble)
The D5 does not come with a dropper post, but has the capability to run internal cable routing for one.

Coil fork, pay the extra to get something better if you want to actually ride it on trails.

Edit: the D6 is on special for 1699 top, pay the extra or regret it.

    • Coil is fine just heavier.
You can always upgrade the fork down the line.

      • The entry air forks aren't much better either. If you want something decent you gotta fork out an extra $1k.

      • The front wheel is a QR which makes upgrade options pretty limited, and hardly worth it without changing the hub. Even a half decent air fork will be thru axle, meaning a new hub/wheel would be an aditional cost.

Coil forks are generally fine assuming your weight fits with what the coil spring is tuned for. However I would say the lack of rebound adjust is more annoying than the coil spring.

What is coil fork? Is that like spring only and no gas?

      • Yes a spring fork.

      • Basically only cheap/entry level bikes have coil forks. Air forks start at about $400+ and are only on bikes generally $1500+. Honestly though, coil forks are fine as long as you aren't taking it on hardcore trails or plan to do huge jumps on the bike (your fork won't be the only thing that's compromised if that's the case), and weight isn't a concern if the overall bike is rather heavy.

A $1000 investment in Polygon the crypto will see greater gains

    • Or losses

  • Is $2250 for the D7 a better deal in the long run? it'd be my first dual suspension MTB.
