  • Yep I picked one up on the AfterPay sale.. the last time DigiDirect did the 20% off ebay thing they immediately OOS this item. Hopefully they have more stock this time! ;)
FYI I have 5 of these, 2 older versions and 3 of this version, been running in my R5 for 2 years. They work well, no issues, excellent $ per GB which you definitely need for the R5s files.

Note the original older versions cards did have a start-up lag issue on the R5, a known issue on the earlier releases. Angelbird replaced both cards free of charge. Their cards can also now have their firmware updated if you have the Angelbird card reader (I do).

  • Should have waited.

What card reader are you using?

    • I have the Angelbird reader as well, it's a nice looking little unit, but it also enables firmware updates for the cards.

Where did you buy it from? Amazon?

EDIT: NVM. Just bought from digiDirect as well $135.20. I think that was the last 1 I bought.

  • Any other cheaper options with the sale that people would recommend? I've got an R5 but more a hobbyist so not looking to spend exactly this much. Thanks in advance.

For $/GB, this Angelbird card is hard to beat.

    • This is as cheap as it gets for CFExpress B, this is an amazing price for a 512GB card.

If you’re looking to cheap out, just buy an SD card since the R5 is dual slot.

  • Fwiw - this is the everyday price just ordering direct from AB - https://www.angelbird.com/prod/av-pro-cfexpress-se-type-b-29… where I got all mine from anyway :)

They do have a slight start up lag on the Z9 - SX and the MKii do not

    • Just checking if prices are in USD?

      • -2

Yep 179 USD - roughly $260 AUD been the same price for the last 6 months (since release date) or so - not really sure why all the AU stores charge double when we can just order from the manufacturer direct and have it fedex to au

        • +1

It’s US$205 including shipping which takes it to AU$300 at the moment.

Also, how is $339 (or with this deal $271) double?

          • @Mitch889: Majority of places sell this product at 399 AUD

  • does this work on a nikon Z7?

    • Yes it will work. Z7 can take CFexpress Type B.

  • Finally used my card from the previous deal I posted for a test run. The card seems a little tight in the card slot of the Z6 and Z6ii. When I push to eject, it needs some encouragement to come up.

But wow, the display shows 11.6k shot capacity now.

  • F, I bought Sony CF express card 128gb for about the same price of this deal, and from Amazon US store too! But this is like March 2021.

  • This is to remind future buyers - if you have existing XQD reader, check with manufacturer if it would read CFExpress cards. My cheap XQD reader bought from Amazon does not work, have to wire up my camera to download instead of taking the card out into a reader. Beware!
