    • Telstra is $10 per day for the eligible destinations with unlimited national/international calls and 500MB of data. Extra $10 for 1 GB data with 1-month validity.

  • Perfect timing for iPhone 14. Just need to work out whether I can keep my number on Optus for another 2 months, sign up here with a new number then down the track transfer my number to this new service. If anyone has advice that would be great

    • don't think you could port once the service activated, ie porting can only be done when you switch provider

  • Hmmmmmmm buy or wait for a better $$$

    Decisions decisions!

You guys can thank me for this. After waiting and and waiting, I pulled the trigger last week for the $300 gift card. Of course this means that it'll rise the following week!

    • +1

      taking one for the community

    • Thank you

  • With my (lousy) maths, if you get the $20 port-in credit, does this work out to $15.66pm?
Is this the cheapest we have seen this deal?

    • Correct

    • I have only ever received a $10 port in credit

  • im uaing 100gb / year plan. can't use them all

  • Can I port in from Boost?

    • No

  • +6

I received the $20 credit on the last offer. You have to find the right Telstra Rep (this took me 3 tries) and its not a $20 port in credit.
They explain its a $10 Port in credit for 12 months, followed by a $120 once off waived for new customer (according to their system as it does not show a $20 port in credit option).

  • Thanks for this deal.
Is it possible (if already on telstra) to set up a new number, then transfer my old one over to this plan and cancel the new signed up number in like a month?

    • Most people from last deal suggest that loophole is closed.

  • As Borat would say..

    Verrrry Niice, I like !

  • Anyone can confirm that you can add your Watch Telstra one number $5 to this plan?

  • Gift card expires in 3 days??

    • +2

The gift card lasts forever, the 28/8 expiry is to signup for this offer to get the $400 gift card (then will be reverted to $300).

      • Ahh, thanks for the info!

    • Where does it say that ?

  • Can the port in $10/$20 credit with live chat only be discussed after signing up for the plan?

    • +1

yes via online chat. plenty of patience required as the operator is multi-tasking….

      i only got $20 port-in credit for 6 months =(

      • Alright I'll try my luck, thanks!

  • +1

Forgive me if this is a daft question.

So if you're an existing Telstra customer - this deal isnt for you. I get that. The lure is to get new business…
But are we saying the best deal existing Telstra (sim only month to month) customers can hope for is via the Telstra website, and that we wont get a sniff of good deals like this?
Unless you're prepared to leave them for at least 30 days and then wait for a deal like this?

    Or am i missing something

    • +1

the way I see it, it is a reminder for those who can to port out from Telstra for 30days as they will soon have Bonus $500 JB Hi-Fi Gift Card with Telstra $69 60GB/Month with 20GB Bonus, 12 Month Plan.

      • Just a hunch better deals are coming? Or is this definately a thing?

    • +3

You aren't missing anything. Telstras attitude to existing customer has been "lol go (profanity) yourself" for decades.

  • For people who have signed up, have you had issues receiving calls from Optus(Catch/Amaysim) services after porting in?

  • +1

It's nice that the gift card brings down the effective price but Telstra's $68pm plan has 180GB (80GB more) by default and it can share data.

  • based on a quick search, the last time JBHifi offered a $500 Gift card on a $69 per month plan for 12 Months was back in 2020 ? Recent ones (last one in May) was $500 GC on a $59 per month 100gb plan ($10 monthly discount) for 24 months plan

    • $69 12 month plan for $500 voucher came in November 2021 too.

    • I got that in March 2021. $69 plan with $10/month discount for 12 months and a $500 gift card

    • My wife got $800 card on $69 plan on Boxing day 2021. Not advertised, need to ask store rep. Happens only once a year, around xmas.

  • Is it easy enough to change from a physical sim to esim?

    • +1

      Yep

    • Takes 1min, they activate the normal sim, then click replace sim, type in esim's number and done.

  • +1

i only got $20 credit applied to my bill for 6 months =(

    anyone having similar experiences?

    • +2

Call up in 6months and get them to do the same again.

    • Still better than not getting anything

  • the last deal was $500

  • nice

  • Do you ask for the $20 port in credit after signing up or before ?

  • +1

Was told you can only get $20 on the $99 plan port in. Took the $10 may try again tomorrow. Still winning, told JB GC was to try and get a PS5 by Xmas, they had PS5 extra stock allocated, so used the GC towards it.

  • Any 12 months deal on $99 plan?

  • How likely is this to be repeated? I need a plan exactly like this but cannot buy for about another month. $400 would come in very useful.

    • There will be 600-800 gift card offer around Xmas

  • Can you share your data between two telstra numbers? If both are on the same account? Both on postpaid plan?

    • JB Telstra plans do not support data sharing.

  • I plan on buying a new iPhone when they come out.

I expect to get at least 2 years use of the new phone before selling it and upgrading again.

Would I better off holding out for a 24 month larger gift card offer, e.g. 24 month $700 card?

Or is it possible to do a 12 month offer like this and then do it again after 12 months?

Also regarding all the posts about port in bonus, if successful for $10 port in offer would that be a one off $10 discount, or $10 less per month for lifetime of the contact?

    • 24 months plan would have a larger discount, most recent was a $1000 voucher

You can always recontract to a new JB plan after this one expires, do not that you will need to port away to another provider for a few days ( up to a month)

$10 bonus applies to a min of 6 months, in many cases it can apply up to 12 months too.

If you can, a better way to buy iPhones may be using the discounted gift cards (Coles, Woolies) that keep coming from time to time.

      • Awesome thanks for the detailed response.

Would best option not be to do a JB Telstra deal and then pay the difference in discounted gift cards?

  • +1

Thanks OP !! Last night ported in then after couple of hours got in touch the Telstra support guy over the chat and got 20$ credit for 12 months i.e. 240$.

    • How did you manage to get it? What did you say?

  • Does this plan allow 5G Access? Edit : Looks like it does. Also any idea about international calling?

    • International calling packages are not applicable to this plan.

  • I thought I'd be clever and get this 12 month $69.- deal for the $400 GC, then price match Iphone 13 pro max 256 gb with amazon for $1879 then pay the remaining $1879-$400= 1479 with 5% discounted giftcards I can get through work bringing the total down to $1405.05.

Got it all approved but they then told me all Iphone's 13 are sold out and the ETA currently is 13 October >_<'. That's a over a month of other potential deals that we might miss out on…. decisions decisions…

  • if i'm a telstra customer - but only for home internet, does it still count as porting in if i go from my vodaphone phone plan to this one? thanks :)

    • Yes you will be considered Porting In customer, if you bring a mobile number from other service provider.

  • Is the port-in credit bonus applied to just the first month or each of the 12/24 months?

  • Telstra rep mentioned we can't add international caching to this after porting the number

    Any one grief this?

    • What is international caching

      • roaming I think

  • Do you chat via the app or website for the bonus? And do you select account, tech support etc.. as I tried and had no luck.. thanks

  • It's 300$ now. Or am I looking at the wrong place?

    • +1

      expired 28/8

      • $99 x24m has a $800 giftcard and 300gb! Get a $20 port in credit, thats maybe (79x24)-800=1096/24 =$45 a month adjust cost… FYI and assuming you get customer chat to apply the monthy credit.

    • Mobile (telstra) jobhifi plan offers are here

  • Anyone who signed up for the $69 port-in deal - did any of you get a message from an unknown number shortly afterward with the following text?

"Welcome to Telstra! [MYNUMBER] was successfully transferred to our network. To manage your account, download the My Telstra app tel.st/getmytelstraapp"

Just trying to determine if that was a legitimate text from them or not.

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to break these contracts without having to pay the ETCs?

  • Will the port in credit work for the $49 pm plan too or just the $69 pm plan?
