I almost bought this toothbrush when Chemist Warehouse had them for $140 - but this is the best price i've seen on the Oral-B Triumph IQ5000 … and from a reputable dealer (Big W).

You won't see the discounted price until you press checkout. Make sure you enter the coupon code (thanks to Orange123). Apologies in advance if this is considered a duplicate because it partially relies on the Big W code posted earlier today.

Also, there's currently a $50 cashback from Braun, which will reduce the price to $78.75. Thanks to kwchaz for picking up my obvious omission :)

I'd like to say a big thank you to all of my fellow OZBargainers for making me spend so much money over the years. Hopefully, this is a small token to return the favour.

Don't forget the cashback program where you get $50 back for this toothbrush.
I had one of these, one good thing for people is that it shows you where you should be brushing, and how long… counts you down to 2minutes. :)

Try looking at your local Target store. They are $120 at Warringah Mall NSW at the moment on sale.

    • -2

Funny thing is, they both do the same job… Clean your teeth.

Just want to get a message out, it's not what toothbrush you're using, it's how you use it.
Proper technique is all that it takes. I'd seriously only recommend electric toothbrushes to those who can't' hold a toothbrush, the lazy, and those with too much money (someone's gotta pay for the kickbacks to dentists from Oral-B and Colgate! lol).

(Go ahead flame away, but if you seriously think an electric toothbrush is going to solve all your problems then think again. But if you're buying it because you want one for whatever reason you have then go ahead, it is your money).

I'm in the lazy group. I will never go back to the standard ones, unless I run out of battery

        • +7

At least you're man enough to admit it lol.

    • 9 negs, wow. Is it caring about the environment bit?

      • +3

Probably more to do with the preaching.

Good price. It was better priced @ $99 in Woolies last week under Oral-B half price promo.

    • +4

      Woolies doesn't carry the IQ5000

  • How is this better manually brushing your teeth? I used one and its just a vibration in your mouth while you brush.

    • +7

There is a joke in that about the missus and vibrations somewhere, but I'm just going to leave it there.

      • -7

you mean one of these would be great for reaching the G-Spot ? :)

  • Sold out online

  • Yeh can't seem to find anywhere online to buy it??

  • +5

holy crap 130+ for a toothbrush…gosh..i cant imagine this

    • Yeh, how does this differ from the $10-$15 ones you see in Woolies? Surely this can't be 13 times as good.

      • I am not sure how much your dentist charges for a filling - but if it saves me just one (cost+ pain and suffering) I am sure it is worth every cent of the $78.75

        • +1

I agree, but if a normal electric toothbrush from Oral-B costs $15, what does this do different, that's the question

        • I have both the 5000 and 500 and previously had the 3000

the higher end models have faster rotations and you have either 2-3 speed adjustments

the 500 only has 1 speed and its feel like the middle speed on a 5000

the indicator that comes with the 5000 is junk imo as its main role is to make sure you brush 2 mins, 3000 had the same function but didnt require you to have a clunky indicator lying around

Cant really say if it makes a difference but my sis uses a 1000 and i use the 5000, never really had any problems with my teeth whereas my sis would rake up dental bills in excess of a few thousand. i use that as a guide but I sure it has to do with you brushing techniques and dental habits as well

  • Not available online!

  • Looks like we OzBargained this bargain to death. They've all sold out. To avoid further confusion, i'll mark the deal as "expired" because historically, once Big W is sold out, they don't offer the sale again (or at least they don't offer it all that quickly).

    • I think it is back on now, only in store pick up thou.. For 4000 (brisbane city) there is a limited number of stock in a 10km radius. But it always worth calling them to see if they have stock anyway.

      • Yes, but thats at $90 after cashback, unless you can use an online coupon instore.

      • BigW 2km away from me in Brissie has stock, but not extra $10 off for online. $138.75 - $50 cb. Will stick with last week's PC500 for $14.95.
($75 more for 2 extra heads, and 5 cleaning settings instead of 1 - tempting.)

  • Just got one from Big W Eastland..still a couple left!

  • I got the last one on the shelf at Altona Meadows (VIC) this morning. We've been happy with our Triumph 9000 (I think) units for the last 8 yrs or so, but the motors are wearing down.

Can anyone confirm where to find the receipt number on a BIGW receipt (required for cashback entry).

    • Hi Break, it's the barcode number at the bottom.

  • Picked up one from target but now sure if it's eligible for the cash back? Mine only says triumph 5000 on the box not iq and the box is a little different looking. Anyone know if it's eligible?

    • +1

Yes it's eligible. I claimed on the same model previously.

  • Too late now, but I got this toothbrush from Chemist Warehouse and it works wonders. Plus I got my cashback gift card this week.

Shame I couldn't wait until this offer, as I would have gotten an extra staff discount…

  • I got one today from Box Hill - there were at least two left

Just in case you had the same problem as me as to where to find them they are to the right in the beauty section

  • am interesed to know, for those that picked this deal up from big w what model 5000 did you get? does it have a LCD screen at the bottom (like the picture) or is it green LED indicators?
Apparently the one with LCD screen is the older model (has the benefit of worldwide voltage plug) vs the newer model which has the green LED indictors (which is slightly slimmer and doesn't have the world-wide voltage plug).

    • Bought mine at Target for $120. Has green LED indictors. Pity it doesn't have the world-wide voltage plug. But if you stay in hotels overseas, most bathroom have 110/240V shaver outlets which should suit.

  • For those with a PC IQ5000…
    [Am comparing PC IQ5000 ($70 & 2 extra heads) against PC500 ($15) - which to keep?]

Do you use the different cleaning modes?
Or the wireless display - only seems good for kids (reward stars for lasting 2 minutes, telling you which teeth to clean next, frowny face if press to hard, & which mode you chose)? (PC500 stutters every 30 seconds & longer at 2 minutes - no need for display)

PC IQ5000 always reverts to 'Daily Clean', so my guess is most just use that over time.
'Deep Clean' is just a longer 'Daily Clean', so of little added benefit - you can always brush longer.
'Sensitive' is lower speed, but just decreasing pressure against teeth may get similar effect.
    'Whitening' "Superior whitening in 3 weeks*" - better than PC500 - I don't think I would use.
'Massage' - I don't think I would use. But what is it like?

    Vitality - 7600 oscillations/min
    Professional Care 500 - 7600 oscillations/min, 20000 pulsations/min
    Professional Care 1000+/Triumph - 8800 oscillations/min, 40000 pulsations/min
So major operating difference between 500 & 5000 is twice pulsations/min & choice of cleaning modes that change these oscillations/pulsations.

Was little disappointed that the 5000's larger charger base turned out to be the same small charger with added plastic surround for holding brushes. Was listed on OralB as "Portable SmartPlug Charger + Charging Station with Brush Head Storage". Expected a 'SmartPlug Charger' to handle other voltages. Charger is no good for some overseas travel as is only 240V, but would work in most hotel bathroom 110/240V shaver outlets.

    Any thoughts???

    • +1

I agree with all your points and had the same feeling regarding the two brushes. I'm inclined to go with the 5000 based on the higher motor output. I assume that is the single most important factor for an electric toothbrush. For 50$ more i think it's worth it plus you get a couple extra heads and the case. Can't beat the pc500 for value though. Also when travelling I just use a manual toothbrush to avoid carrying around more gadgets. The smart guide is a cool clock too.

      • Thanks - Are you using the different cleaning modes? How are they?
I think it is the 5000's higher pulsation rate that would make the cleaning difference.
Usually travel with a manual, or a manual with vibration (got a few of these for $3ea on special). But I holiday overseas (on a budget) 3 to 9 months a year.
For up 2 weeks travel, it should not need to be recharged.
Don't think I need a clock in the bathroom. I like to soak in a bubble bath & forget time.
2 extra heads are worth $10, making the difference between brushes $45 in my case.
Either will do the job - I just like to save my money, but get a good deal.
        Its interesting heaing others experience.

I only tried the different modes briefly, but agree ill prob just end up using the normal mode. Maybe polish once in a while. The massage mode is also good for gums so I might try to do that too. I do feel it gives a better clean than the pc500, just based on how my teeth feel. Sorta similar to when i first got a electric toothbrush and compared it to a manual one. So I think there is a significant difference in cleaning power. Again I would say pc500 is by far a better deal, I just feel like i'd always be left wanting the better model.
