3x Camels AU Is Getting Less and Less Dependable?

I noticed this a few weeks ago. I would look up products I knew for a fact dropped to a certain price because I purchased the item, and 3x Camels AU would not show the lowest price it has been. While for some other items it would still show the correct price history.

Now I realised it is showing some prices in USD and the history is all wrong, even if you convert the USD to AUD the price history is still wrong.

It seems like the history on 3x Camels AU has become less and less dependable. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yes I’m finding it’s been a bit hit and miss lately with the figures

    • "it was nice while it lasted i guess"

This is not what I wanted to hear lol. Isn't it enough that Amazon price jacks their items after X amount sold? This has been my recent experience posting and watching Amazon deals. And now they are going after 3x Camels on top of that.

Yeah you just made it sound like Amazon was cracking down on 3x camels. Don't know if there any truth to it or not, but I would like to continue using 3x camels.

Umm the comment didn’t sound like that to me. It is possible the scrapper backend for 3 x camels just need a tweak

            • @avoidfullprice: So "it was nice while it lasted i guess" is meant as a joke as in "it was nice while the incorrect price history lasted i guess"??

  • Yeah. Missed out on lego batwing yesterday.
    Damn camel3

  • Yep been checking some boxsets and giving same nonsensical errors

…and 3x Camels AU would not show the lowest price it has been.

It's inflation…. they need to make it 4x camels.

  • I noticed the USD thing yesterday but thought it was due to me changing browsers and having to login again. Sometimes it's not picking up the right price, and I know it's not because I've just missed out a discount as I've been watching the product for a while. Overall it's still better than nothing. Just need to cross reference a little more diligently.

Yup I noticed it has missed some of the price changes I know of.

e.g. right now these headphones have been $170.99 for a few days but camelx3 still lists them as $227.99. The lowest price they report is $182.39.

  • I am sad to hear everyone is experiencing it as well.

I just think it's not that big of a deal for Amazon, they should let it exist. Most times the lowest price is shown as a brief moment, usually telling you it was during Prime Day sales or Black Friday. So then you can make a decision, pay the slightly higher price now because you need the item or wait until next year. Not every customer is going to wait many months for a "chance" to get it at the lowest price again.

    • I just think it's not that big of a deal for Amazon, they should let it exist.

What are they doing to make it not exist?

      • They might be changing website design to make it harder for the camel bot to scrape it. Facebook for example is changing the site constantly so it is too hard to scrape the data

  • How often does camel check prices a day? Some of the hard drives all time lows from the recent Amazon prime sale aren't reflected in camel's price history

Sometimes I get price alerts that prices dropped to $0 (zero) but that's obviously not true
