Received an RT-PCR Invoice after 9 Months

Family of three paid a private RT-PCR test for travel last November(test was done mid Dec) via a Pathology lab's website. 9 months later I've received an invoice demanding we pay an outstanding payment of $20 per person. Price on the invoice is showing $120 but online price was $100. What law can I bring up questioning the legality of such practice?

Daughter was also retested as they couldn't find her test records on the system even though three of us got tested together and our results were already out. We needed the COVID clearance results before our flights so quickly dashed to the pathology's main testing center. Now, they are chasing us to pay another $120! In fact, results for second test arrived before the initial test!

      Mabo

    • So if this was Autoguru where you got quoted for car service and you've fully paid up online. Then service was done but 9 months later you've received an invoice demanding extra payment how would you feel?

In my case the website is the Pathology itself and not a third party.

Do you have anything to say it was $100 if booked online? If not, then pay up the $60

Do you have anything to advise they lost the results? Otherwise as you later say the 'lost' results arrived, so you kinda did 'book' a 4th test when not needed, so yeah should really be paying for that too.

Just checked my emails and found the original invoice indicating that it's been fully paid. Surely it's not legal to demand extra payment after the fact even if prices did increase later on. Looks like A/R department might have messed up.

      Tell them you have this?

    • Fully paid. End of story. Assuming the 2 invoices say they are for the same thing.

What did the pathology company say when you asked? Get an OZB response before we proceed with any resolution?

    • Tell them to 'shove it' then!

  • what if you dont pay?

    • Bikies
      .

  • sue them for e-mo-tion-nal-dam-age!….

  • Fools and their money?

  • Sounds like 4Cyte.

They also sent bills out to people via debt collectors for "bulk billed" PCRs…

Sounds like a late fee, pay up and stop wasting everyone's time, including yours.

Or go to university for 4 years and get your law degree, then take on your own case pro bono.

  • Which pathology lab is this? Going to avoid if I can.
