Sim Rally Setup, What’s Next?

G’day,
Managed to put together a racing wheel setup for ps/pc gaming with Logitech g29 and a next level racing seat.
What’s a good starting point for a beginner into rally type games? (Have dirt rally 2/ wrc 10 on ps) + others on pc.

What am after? Get better at sim rally driving on the wheel and pedals and car tuning (for casual play). Going to use the shifter pedals on the wheel for a start before I settle on a dedicated unit.

Am I asking this without referring internet resource / yt / etc? No I have referred. Just occurred to me there is plethora of information / misinformation and it gets confusing so I thought of asking on a forum as i need to get the basics right 😀

Cheers 🍻

Not clear what you're asking here. Seems you have a setup and main rally games already. Secondary games would be Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2.

Gran Turismo 7 is one of the best sim racing games especially for wheels but has limited rally specific stages.

Assetto corsa has alot of drifting and some rally but you can get the Richard burns rally fans remake it has 100's of tracks and updated models but it's from 2007 so it hasnt got the best graphics but it gets updated heaps.

There's guides online to get it up and running if you cant work it out but it's pretty straight forward and free. https://www.rallysimfans.hu/rbr/index.php

For technique you can look up YouTube tutorials for the game you are playing. Setting up the pedal and wheels in the game options are almost always recommended and you can usually find setups online you can try of people with the same wheel as you.

Also too not sure what OP is asking, but I play a quite the bit of Dirty Rally 2 too.

Personally, I use a sequential shifter and separate handbrake and they make the difference in experience for me. I tried using paddle-shifters but it was a bit difficult when turning more than 90-degrees and trying to shift.

Those two games listed would be the leaders in rally at the moment.

    • Sorry if it was confusing :-)

Basically on how to skill up on rally and tune the car for different type of tracks for wheel / pedals etc.
I can manage on road racing on wheel with games like forza horizon series, but rally is a entirely different type of a beast to tame. I’ve tried some setups and guides from YT and web but felt like really missing some things :-)

      Thanks for your input.
