    The LT1S looks great. Can the base be drilled to add a tripod thread without compromising integrity?

      The hole for the spring in the tail is about 3mm deep. There's about 3.5mm to work with. You may have another 5-10mm to work with by replacing the springs. The spring in the head and the spring at the tail should be replaced with something shorter.

    I don't have a Q8 Pro, just the original. The Pro will blow you away if you're new to high lumen torches.

    LT1S is a great little lantern. I mainly use it for the red light at night as it's less intrusive to the mrs sleeping but the standard light is good too.

    SC31 Pro is a great pocket, every day kind of torch. Very versatile user interface and nice brightness and range if you've used the supermarket Energizer variety of torches in the past.

    As for the brand, I'm a bit of a torch collector and have purchased 30odd Sofirn torches in the last 4 years and none have failed me yet.

      On the Q8 Pro product page there's a "Voucher: Save 5%" checkbox near the price that you should click to enable. When you add to cart and click proceed to checkout, there's a Gift Codes field. That's where the HUAS2FIC goes. It brings the total down to $90.29

      Which torches? Do they still work when you charge or replace the battery?

      Some torches with an electronic switch may have parasitic drain which could slowly discharge the battery. It's best to take the battery out or unscrew the head or tailcap to disconnect the battery.

      And some torches with electronic switch may take years to discharge a battery when the torch isn't in use.

    This brand seems solid , seems like the promotion still going, could be good for father's day.

    Not sure which one, something for taking the dog out for a pee. Good to have at least one decent torch handy for blackouts, or outdoor stuff, in the glove box etc.

    Noticed the Q8 Pro doesn't come with a lanyard?

      Yeah, there's no lanyard hole.

      There is a standard tripod hole on the side of the torch, opposite the switch. You could use some kind of tripod adapter. A tripod screw to ring adapter to attach a sling. Or an aftermarket handle that screws into a tripod hole.

    Mine just arrived. How do I turn on turbo mode on the Q8? I turn it on and then double click but I think that's just ceiling level?

      Try 2H (two clicks and hold on the second click).

      You may need to change it into Advanced mode first. If you do three clicks from off and it flashes the battery voltage once then it may be in Simple mode.

      10H (ten clicks from off and hold on the 10th) will change it to Advanced. Then you can click on, and double click to Turbo, or do 2H from off. 2C from off will go to the ceiling.
