  Imo unless you need the higher capacity better off spending the ~$50 on a 1l vacuum insulated stainless CamelBak chute.

    Sometimes, that's what you want.

    Brisbane has horrible-tasting tap water, so make tea or herbal tea in the evening, let it cool on the kitchen counter overnight, and take to work as a cool drink the next day.

  Is there something special about this brand?

  I paid $6 for my stainless bottle years ago. Used a lot. Dropped multiple times. Still going strong. I see same design regularly in shops around $10.

    same for me, i have $10 ones, 1 litre ones form kmart and supermarket, work fine …..i have been tempted to get a $2 litre oasis or similar for the car but seems to be big price hikes for 2 litre.

    nope, for single wall I always go cheap, spend a little more on the double wall as I find the cheaper ones don't hold temp as well.

    They're popular because of environmental reasons. They're affiliated with organisations like 1% For the Planet and Certified B Corporation so people feel like they're doing better for the planet by buying.

    I've found that the cheaper ones at supermarkets and Kmart don't keep the water as cold. I managed to grab one from Camelbak on sale and it's been great, having said that I would never pay full price for one.
