Free Standing Pull up Bar/Station

Hey guys,

Looking for a free standing pull up bar/station. Have no idea what’s good quality and legit online. Just want something decent and sturdy under $200 if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

  • Some aldi stores still have there half rack on clearance which has a pull up bar, its $200, 300KG max weight.
Most likely suitable for a teen or lighter person, heavier person most lilkely will need to bolted down.

Thats based on seeing it at a Aldi in here Adelaide a few days ago.

    • Is it in-store only cause I can’t find it for delivery online?

      • yes in store, its like 40KG when I looked at the boxes (2)

  • I've been looking at this https://baseblocks.com.au/

It popped up on my facebook, but I haven't pulled the trigger on it just yet!

    • Hmmm looks good but seems dropshippy to me, also the prices seem a bit high.

    • I have their Big Bar.

It's good, but realise you have no adjustable grips, and consider whether the base support bars going across the middle will bother you.

I've been using the Everfit one. Got it 2nd hand but you can get similar ones for about 150 https://www.catch.com.au/product/power-tower-multi-function-…

  • How tall are you?

Do you plan on doing just pulls or stuff that might be more dynamic?

    • I think I’m around 170cm. Pull ups for now but was planning on adding the rings and some more movements.

  • I've been really happy with the quality (and price!) of this model:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/175180986244

Paid 124.69 delivered using 22% off eBay Plus code during EOFY sales. If you can't wait for a bargain (?!)… currently 176.95 delivered using code SNSAUGUST. Haven't checked any other sellers.

I chose this particular model over slightly cheaper options because it has the push up grips/handles on the front side. I wasn't interested in the version with a bench out the back because it needed to fit in a narrow space against a wall.

The outer hand grips at the top and the push up grips are solid plastic and a bit hurty. The other grips are a soft material so no problem there. Was pretty easy to assemble with included instructions but there are a lot of parts (delivered flat packed of course).

At first I could not lift myself off the ground at all (without using toes). After using it very briefly (~5-10 reps in each position) most days at least once for about two months AND doing quite a lot of garden work (digging out garden beds and shifting decorative stone)… I can now lift myself about 10cm (without using toes). Progress!

    • That’s great to hear! Awesome progress!
This one seems very similar to the Everfit one. Might be the same under different brand names?

      • Probably all the same factory :D

The Everfit one linked above doesn't have push up handles on the bottom. Hard to tell from pictures but the Everfit one looks shiny, the Verpeak one is a rough/matte finish. Not sure what is preferable…
