What Is Your Experience with Allianz Travel Insurance (NAB Credit Card) ?

I might have to cancel my flight and hotel booking that I bought from Jetstar via Nab Platinum Credit Card given Jetstar has changed returning flight to midnight from the morning.

Jetstar has also provided a letter that reads:
Contact your insurer:

If you have a travel insurance policy which covers incidents like this and plan on making a claim, this letter could be a good one to include.

Can you provide any insights?

  • Used them, they were terrific when refunding me for a flight delay resulting in the cancellation of $1500 of flights.

    Did have to follow up with them when they lost it in the system but immediately paid out.

    For your one it may be at the discretion of your travel insurer, but as you haven't yet started your travel it may not qualify? This is an international flight yes?
    Sounds like it should be a refund from Jetstar and they're just trying their luck to keep your money and make you cancel it.

  • Missus is in Bangkok at the moment and just got her flight cancelled by Jetstar yesterday due to engineering faults. Contacted Allianz and they refused to cover it as the cancellation wasnt due to a strike, riot, hijack, protests, weather and natural disaster. Yeah we didnt read the PDS but obviously you would have thought it would be covered. It's still kind of annoying because the earliest flight Jetstar could offer was on 14/9 and she ended up paying 1.6k for a Monday flight.
