76cm minimum height will be an issue for shorter people. You don't think about it until you've got one, but not being able to put the desk low enough is a real pain. If your < 6ft, consider a desk with a lower minimum height.

    • This is very true! My desk's minimum height is 73cm but I would have gotten a lower one if I had known to check for this when I was shopping around

    • Good point. I never used one so didn't think about that. I did find another one from different website with a minimum height of 71cm. Would that be suitable for people <6ft?

      • I'm not sure Jiji. I have 73cm, and that's not enough for me. I'd say 71cm might be good at the higher end of 5ft, but lower end id say closer to 60cm.

Search for desk height calculator - there are heaps, to get a good idea of a minimum height for yourself.

This has single motor and tabletop comes in 3 pieces

Yeah this needs to be mentioned. I noticed the tabletop coming in 2 or 3 pieces is pretty common for these cheaper desks. It saves them on shipping costs because they can reduce the size of the box.
I was checking out what was well reviewed on Amazon US then soon after found out that majority of them came with split piece desks. Some negative reviews mentioned it ruined the desk for them. Also some of the pieces don't fit together well and can leave a gap causing things to get stuck or fall through.

There are lots of misspelling in the ads which put me off straight away even when it's $199. :(

  • Oh sad. 1.5m would be ideal

    • it's width adjustable so it can become a 1.5m desk, but requires a bit of DIY

  • Is it better than the Aldi one anybody?

Anyone wanna buy a char? I named it the tunafish supersport

  • General question: Do these standing desks have cable management/storage underneath of them? Is it a problem to handle cables (power cords, network etc) with every lifing/lowering?

    • Generally no. Get cable management from IKEA.

    • doesn't come with cable management, but I bought a tray for $30 on ebay

    Thanks! Gave it a go.
$200 shipped to Metro Victoria - great deal. Supposedly will be delivered in 2 days but skeptical.

I also bought a bigger table top: https://www.fastofficefurniture.com.au/officefurniture/offic…
    $188 delivered for the 1800mm x 900mm table top. 1 month delivery.

Just put it together - took about 30 minutes.
Build quality is pretty good, but with the first desk I got, the allen key didn't quite fit some of the bolt heads, but the replacement desk was fine.
The motor/controller goes on the left side of the desk - if you want it on the right, you'll need to screw/drill your own holes under the desk.

One really cool feature about the desk which isn't advertised is that it's width adjustable - up to 1800mm - so you can fit a bigger table top edge-to-edge.
It works by having a horizontal rail in the middle of the desk so you can slide the left and right frames inward/outward of the rail…I suck at explaining, but trust me, it's easily width adjustable.
If you fit a bigger table top, it will require a bit of DIY - the frame under the table top uses bolts (not self-drilling/driving screws) which connect to a nut that's flush with the surface of the table top.

The motor/controller could be better, and probably where it might end up being a deal breaker for some - I'm hoping this doesn't happen with every model, but with mine, upon the first press of the Up button, the LCD display immediately shows 120 and doesn't go up. I then have to press Down for a second which brings the display back to 74, then I press Up again, and it works fine. If you keep pressing up along the way, there's no issues - it's just on the first press when the number is at 74. I just used the 2 memory/presets to get around this.

The table top is 3 piece - I would have preferred 1 piece, but it's not a deal breaker. The 3 pieces are flush. There's obviously a bump when you run your finger through the 3 pieces, but it's still fine. Just be careful if you're drilling under the desk (i.e., you don't want to drill a hole where the pieces connect)

The minimum height is 76cm and the minimum on my current manual height adjusting desk is 72cm. I'm 178cm and the 4cm difference is noticeable (I didn't believe the comments above but I do now lol), but it's still comfortable. 72cm is definitely much better though. Worst case, use a footrest.

Amazing value for $200 if you can forgive the motor. For perspective, I paid $239 for my manual height adjusting desk 2 years ago.

      • hey mate, how is stability? Does it wobble much at all? That's what gets me with cheap desk - they wobble like mad.

      • Hi ywpn, can you let me know how to set a memory preset? I tried to follow instructions by pressing a S button together with a number button, but it didn't work for me.

        • Yeah that's what I did - and held it for a second until you hear a beep followed by another number.
So go to your desired height (e.g., 114) and press: S + 1, then it beeps, then a different set of numbers appear (e.g., 45.2) then it goes back to 114.

      • The motor/controller issue seems to have gone away.
I accidentally fixed it by unplugging the cable between the controller and motor (it sparked a bit), then turned it off at the wall, plugged the cable between the controller and motor back in, turned it back on at the wall, and it's back to normal.

My 1800x900 table top arrived and managed to fit that on the frame (had to take the threaded inserts from the Sardine table top and screw them into the bigger table top).

$388 all up for a huge desk :)

  • FYI. The price is the same when purchased on Amazon, and there is no shipping cost to QLD.

  • Bought the table and have been having huge issues with it. Threaded screws don't line up properly and lift mechanism is faulty at best. If there is too much load on the table 15kg or greater it errors out with the wrong height. The product is nasty at best and wouldn't recommend anything from sardinesport.
