https://www.gsmarena.com/battery-test.php3 scroll down until you find one with features that suit you. You can estimate your usage by looking for your current phone as a reference point.

  • iphone 13 mini has an okay battery life, once you get used to it. this is assuming that you aren't one of those people glued to their phone 24/7, it can go 1 - 2 days without a charge if all i do is a little bit of internet browsing and a few texts / calls per day.

  • Not an Iphone SE

    • It is a love or hate. People in the know reckon it is crap but heaps buy it and still put up with it!

      • This is true,
I'd happily take an XR though.

The upcoming Asus Zenfone 9 has a really good battery, powerhouse in 5.9" compact size.

    • Doesn't have wireless charging, which is possibly the only reason I won't get it. Not sold on having 3.5 jack either. Pretty good otherwise.

      • What other phones have you been looking at getting? In similar spot where I'm not sure if the 2 year update and processing on photos (camera quality) is worth it for the better battery. Have a S22 right now with pretty bad battery - only saved by wireless charging and a portable charger I carry everywhere, tbh not the best though…

        • None to be honest. I cannot see anything out there that would be a good replacement for my rapidly aging Pixel 5.

I was considering the new iPhone when it comes out, but don't know if I will enjoy apple as much.

It is a sad state of affairs.

My requirements are: small screen, decent camera, good battery, water proof and wireless charging. I see 3.5 jack as a bit of a dinosaur and a deterrent but not a deal breaker.

S22 is only recent, why does it have a bad battery?

          • @randysal: The SD8 Gen 1 by Samsung (not TSMC) are notorious for overheating and also it's pretty inefficient, 3 hours SOT is what I get, I charge 2-3 times a day to get through.

I was also looking at the next iPhone 14 Pro but it's going to end up close to a 2000$ phone this year.

I used to work at a telco so I went thru phones quick, I went from the Pixel 5 to the iPhone 12 because work had a huge discount for both at the time. I wish I kept the Pixel 5 at the time was the perfect size with the finger print sensor placement. But the iPhone was really consistent and the speed at opening up and taking photos was way better than any android phone I've ever had.

            • @daniesaurs: Wow that is a bad battery life. Should the manufacturer replace the device in this case? I would almost go as far as consider it faulty.

Yes, I have got iPhone 13 for my son and have 12 for work but don't think I would like it for myself. Possibly just a matter of getting used to it. I don't see a real reason to get a pro, just plain old 14 when it comes out - still a bit of time to make a decision.

Pixel 5 is perfect size wise and I don't have major gripes with it really, battery life could be better though. Just want something different for no reason what so ever :)

That’s still big though right? Right?

    • you get used to it…i found 6" was the right size/price/specs for me

  • Merged from iPhone Vs Android Battery Life?

Just wondering what generally has better battery life? E.g what would have a better battery life iPhone 12 mini or pixel 6a?
