Please help me in receiving a refund from JungleJumble RESOLVED

Dear OzBargainers and JJ,

I would like to tell you the story of how a really good deal turned out to be not so such a good deal.

I paid for this deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/71839 thinking it was a great price for 8 eneloops. But it turned out to be only 4 eneloops so JungleJumble did the right thing and started refunding customers. I also wanted the refund to I emailed the rep and called their customer service.

To my astonishment, I didn't receive any reply to my email. And since their line was busy I left my contact details, but never received a call back from them.

From the comments in the previous thread I can speculate that people who paid with paypal already got their refund. I however, paid with direct deposit. And until this date have not received any reply or refund from JJ.

JJ, can you please answer this or can someone give me advice on who I should talk to next ? I genuinely need my $18 back so I can buy cheap stuff from MeritLine :)

MOD: Moved to General Forum.
EDIT: Removed flame
UPDATE: I talked to JJ rep on the phone and they told me that they haven't refunded me because they didn't have my bank details. Strange right, because I paid them with direct deposit I would have thought they had my bank details. Well I didn't make a deal out of it, because I learnt from the advice in this thread it to be friendly if you want results. After emailing my bank details, I received a full refund within 12 hours or so.

Then I used the money to buy some SATA cables :) http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/72484

Thanks to everyone who added their bit of advice. Like really, Thank-you. I thought I was screwed buy you guys saved my day

contact your bank, maybe there is something they can do.

lodge a complaint with the dept. of fair trading/consumer affairs in your state, they will return your calls once they get a call from them. there are fines for this kind of thing.

this is unacceptable business practice. don't let them get away with it.

    • Great advice mate, I'll be chasing this up because I'm cheap and I don't want them to get away with it.

send them another email, then a letter of demand.

    • Typing it up as we speak :)

send it registered post. drop me a pm if you're thinking of taking them to court (will cost u more than the value of the item, afaik you cant recoup the court costs)

        • Cheers Davo, but it won't be necessary. I got the refund, so I'm going to drop all charges. Haha !

Might be wortwhile checking your spam emails. Online traders emails sometimes get binned by spam filters because too many people got sick of receiving their emails.

    • Just had a peek there, lots of spam. But nothing from JJ

Keep in mind the time a bank deposit can take to clear and the fact you ordered on Wednesday, which means it may not have cleared before the long weekend

I honestly forgot about the long weekend. I shall try contacting them again today

Firstly, you say everyone else got a refund, to me that indicates a communications problem, as their track record in this case seems good.

I find if I do try and understand this, then often the results I get are positive.

Its a long weekend, as Tal_Shair indicates. So a little patience would help. Yep having to wait sucks, but sometimes we do get caught and mistakes do happen.

Now after allowing for all that they refuse to refund you then sure go on the attack, but starting off with a "you've scammed me", and doing it in public, doesn't give a good vibe to anyone

Thanks Pete, every comment here has been really constructive. I've heavily edited the post to remove any unnecessary flame.

I'm really impressed by the comments posted by other Ozbargainers here. Good suggestions, and a particularly constructive post by ozpete, which gave a mild rebuke in friendly fashion when it would have been so easy to give the OP a flame. Very well done people.
