    Boost use Blendtec blenders at the stores I've paid attention to. Haven't noticed Vitamix at any.

  Have an older Vitamix and agree with the other posters - brilliant blender!

  Mine is an ex-demo and after ~5 years of daily use the bearings in the blade assembly started to fail. Genuine replacement is $150 for the whole assembly, they don't sell the parts individually. I tried replacing just the bearings in the original assembly which lasted only a few months before problems again. I'm not sure if I used crappy bearings or possibly didn't replace the seals properly. Ended up buying a knockoff full replacement assembly off ebay for $50 and it was been working well for the last year.

  TLDR - knockoff replacement blade assemblies from ebay appear to work well and $100 cheaper
