Bissell Crosswave Max or Tineco S3?

Currently, I can get the below:

Tineco S3 Cordless for $539 (with HOMSAV coupon)
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/114640838470

Or

Bissell Crosswave Cordless Max for $456.72 (with PAUGSEP12)
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/124199384932

I'm torn between the 2.

What i know so far:

Tineco - self propelled, got lots of smart features, lighter
Bissell - head can swivel, larger tank, more battery and can also wash your rugs

Many reviews seem to declare the Tineco S3 to be better than the Bissell Crosswave Cordless Max in cleaning mopping (drier finish) and less streaks than the Bissell but the with Bissell the rugs washing feature is nice…

Has anyone tried the Bissell and can comment on its rugs washing feature?

Thanks

I've had a bissell crosswave (corded) for 5+ years. I'm currently on my 3rd unit. The first one developed a leak. Bissell replaced it under warranty. The second one had a cracked hose in the swivelling head. I had a 5 years extended warranty with harvey norman, so they refunded me and made me buy the replacement (which is dearer) and this time around they only offer 1 year extended warranty (in addition to the 2yrs from bissell).

I'm not familiar with the tineco, but maybe the next time my bissell is broken, I might give it a try.

I like my bissell despite its problems:
    - Can't get all the way to the corners / edges
    - Have to be careful in order to get a dry result, multiple passes, etc.

I don't use it on rugs, only on tiles. It sure as hell beats mopping. So far it has been the best / easiest / cleanest way to clean my tiled floors.

PS I use "Versadet" from bunnings for my cleaning liquid, the bissell one is just too expensive.

    • thanks!

in terms of edge cleaning, apparently Tineco S3 has the same problem. They only fix it on the more expensive S5 Pro.

And yeah, that is what i heard with Bissell where it will be streaky and needs multiple passes…

    • How effective is the bissell at cleaning the grout and making the tiles look new?

I don't think the bissell cleans grouts at all. If something is loose and happens to be in the grout, it will pick it up and suck it off. But if something is very sticky, I'd have to use a toothbrush or something hard like a flat screwdriver. I don't have to do this very often. The brush on the bissell doesn't go into the grout. It tries to be as gentle as possible so as not to scratch timber floorings.

In terms of making the grout appear cleaner, I'm not sure if bissell is the right tool for it.

I still wouldn't want to be without my bissell though

    • Thanks for your review.
I've been having first world problems picking out a gift from work. Narrowed down to either the bissell crosswave (though I think wireless model) or a fitbit sense 1 smartwatch. And bissell vs a steam mop.

      • I've never had a steam mop, but in my mind there's no contest. Bissell (or probably the tineco) would clean 100000x better and easier than a steam mop. It's because it continuously cleans with fresh water and removes/sucks away the dirty water.

  • Can't comment on the Bisell, but we bought the Tineco S3 earlier this year while on sale (for around the same price) and it's been great, haven't regretted this purchase at all.

Very happy with the clean it does, floors dry very quickly and it is very easy to use. There are some shortcomings (edge cleaning and it's very chatty) but these are minor in comparison.
