FREE FillMyTank App. Petrol Price comparison site nationwide. Community updated. Great concept.

www.fillmytank.com.au

Where you can post local fuel prices, and see what prices are in your area.

They also have an iphone app -free

Hopefully an Android one sometime so more people can play although you can get web access so it is somewhat functional.

Great for Ozbargainers to get on board and improve the database of info, that way we all can share in the savings. Which makes it close to our hearts.

Fantastic idea. I was going to suggest the OzBargain community do a crowd-sourced pricewatch, in order to determine the best day to fill up. Not needed any more with this app! I've already emailed the author with a few suggestions to improve the app to increase functionality, I hope they get added.

+1 from me. we can't vote in the forums :(

Looks good. Are iphone users the only ones that can update the pricing? I didn't see a way to do it on the website.

    • Yes I didnt look closely before looks like its only the iphone. Also there isnt a way to add a station that's not already there. I have messaged to developer to see if there is.

  • Looks good, hope everyone gets behind it.

Would be nice to have someway of beating the Oil companies at their own game

  • Have been entering details in my area and hopefully it helps. Like to see more people sharing the news

  • Great idea, but they need to produce an Android version soon to have a bigger crowd to source. I saw that many of the servos in this area had no data and those that did were up to a week out of date.

    • Agree maybe a Android developer can work with them, the more inputs the better for everyone, a common enemy for both platforms - :)

    • And Windows phone too! Including being able to input data from PC!

  • Wonder whether there are measures in place to prevent unscrupulous operators entering spurious data in a bait and switch type strategy, or just pranksters entering spurious data.

Most people might already use this but I find motormouth.com.au quite good - data is entered by verified data collectors, and updated twice a day. I monitor (via email notification) just the stations on/near by travel routes, and track the movements in my area via a spreadsheet/graph so I have a better idea of when the troughs are likely to occur.

    • I guess the issue with motormouth it doesnt help you in the outlying areas

We do not have prices at individual service stations as we do in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, Perth, Canberra, Darwin, Brisbane and Gold/Sunshine Coasts
Historical pricing is not available for these cities

  • "Bp Kapunda Main St 9.90 c/l" ??? I wonder how much for shipping?

  • Maybe in future releases they can draw down on MotorMouth data as well, in order to give a more accurate measure for those areas it covers
